I actually recognised Katie from the image. The colours are very fitting, though she is slightly less tan in real life. Yet giving her cheeks that coat of colour adds life and a sort of youthful promise if you can get your head around that. Her eyes are very well done, the slight shade in her bottom lid hints of wisdom and an aptitude for life, which is further emphasised by the eyes itself, bright, wanting, confident yet there is something almost cute, very appealing and easily approachable. You seem to have snipped the pinnacles of her character and delicately penciled them in. I can't wait to see what you do with mine - as soon as Jeff sends you some of the pics from our photoshoot yesterday. Anyway, the background is very appropriate. I love all shades of blue...each has it's story and I find even though all of its shades are encompassed in this one colour.. each seems to retain its sense of individuality. That individuality can be seen as each star seems to suggest of it's own unique prospect. Thats a carpet that coats our skies - that is really laden at our feet, though as the image suggests...she seems to be one of the only one who sees it and believes the venture possible.
also, 'colour' is missing a "u" *cheeky grin*

I like the shading and the choice of colors.
But what I like the most is the look in the character's eyes... Like she is amazed or as if she is discovering.

I keep returning to this. Her eyes and eyebrows speak volumes, you know, she is insisting, resounding/articulating for us to follow her, I see this so clearly. "Follow me, don't be afraid, no harm will come to you, but, please, you must follow me."
Again, this is incredible, beautiful, emotional and filled with visual movement and with silence, yet a message that is strong, and filled with insistence in her expression.
"I love the expressiveness, so adventurous, and filled with confidence. Beautiful work on this, just beautiful."

I really do believe that these impulses to create images, stories, and music come straight from who we were as children; I loved working on this because it was the first time I'd figured out a way to SHOW that...
