I just made my first space-scape, but I used The brush nebula. (It's a brush (lol obvious))

Cool Its definitely a start and needs lots of improvement..

I suggest you try out my tutorial for the nebula and background, and then use other tutorials for planets, stars and asteroids

Hey where do I find the image it made?

Stamga In reply to Nod3 [2010-09-02 21:34:12 +0000 UTC]

Once you have a fractal showing, you have to click on "Flame > Render to disk..." like shown on step 3 of the first part of my tutorial.

Awesome, I have Gimp, not photoshop or Apophysis, but Ill try to find ways to adapt it, since GIMP ha sme similar features

Yeeah, im sure it will, Ive mainly stuck to airbrushing and slight use of fractals, but I think this will help me in making mine more realistic in my scenes

Stamga In reply to MagnumtheHedgehog [2010-08-29 01:58:17 +0000 UTC]

Great

MagnumtheHedgehog In reply to Stamga [2010-08-29 02:03:22 +0000 UTC]

yeah, and plus your tutorial definetly looks very professionally done, with the difficultly scale and the typing fonts, other than the nebuals and tips, the background and details in the tutorial itself is a piece of artwork

Thanks a lot Took lots of time to perfect. I always want my releases to look good so I had to give it some styling

Stamga In reply to asianpride7625 [2010-07-01 12:02:14 +0000 UTC]

lol. It's a fractal flame editor and generator that you can find here [link]
Was that so hard? lol. Jk

Bull53Y3 In reply to ??? [2010-06-22 12:02:34 +0000 UTC]

nice tut, another way to create nebulae.
Btw. I render my nebulae @ quality 6000, I think the suggested 200 is pretty low!
The second hint: render in format *.PNG, you have no BG for the next steps.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Stamga In reply to Bull53Y3 [2010-06-23 00:39:10 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the comment and tips

I never understood what the quality factor changed. Does it remove fractal noise?

Using PNG is also awesome I just leave to JPEG because of the file size, and because having a black background while using Color Dodge doesn't change anything

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bull53Y3 In reply to Stamga [2010-06-25 07:38:19 +0000 UTC]

Some noises are removed, try it out and compare it.
You will see a difference!
In my opinion the higher quality creates better texes!

tassadar102 [2010-06-21 19:46:58 +0000 UTC]

Awesome. This can even be applied to paint.net I am going to make the most awesome backgrounds thanks to this!

Stamga In reply to tassadar102 [2010-06-21 20:41:17 +0000 UTC]

Cool! I thought paint.NET didn't have the appropriate layer styles and blending modes for it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tassadar102 In reply to Stamga [2010-06-21 23:46:57 +0000 UTC]

Well it was a bit of a hit and miss but for someone who knows the ins and outs of that program it is quite possible. I have already made two in my spare time ^_^

Looks good! I would just work a little more on the planet if I were you

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

tassadar102 In reply to Stamga [2010-06-23 16:05:32 +0000 UTC]

Well it is kinda hard to use techniques meant for photoshop and use them in Paint.net. I will keep looking though and hopefully will be able to find a tutorial more suited for paint.net ^_^

thanks.

Stamga In reply to tassadar102 [2010-06-23 17:23:32 +0000 UTC]

Maybe a GIMP planet tutorial like this one [link] would resemble a little more to paint.NET..

tassadar102 In reply to Stamga [2010-06-23 20:20:52 +0000 UTC]

That looks cool. I'll look into it ^_^
