This song has been sticking inside my head when I was drawing this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSXlkc…Let's disregard the comic plot timeline and draw some sci-fi prothean and sci-fi oravores.
This is Vahana (Prothean race, Exemplar of Protection) and Alancier (Oravores race, Exemplar of Vengeance) before the Prothean Reaper War.
They're bviously fighting against something, not sure what it is. They've fought so many wars even the creator had lost count.
It's just good ol' times of pure badass-ness and no politics and all those crazy stuffs, life was simple.
So they're war-buddies, like I've said.
This inter-species liaison just has to work, Javik, stop disapproving.
EDIT: Added more action elements into it so it looks like they're fighting instead of just posing.

Ah, I guess it's because the the foldable antennae on Vahana's head gear... and the red/blue color.

I'm trying to draw sci-fi knights without dosing too many fantasy elements.
But it must be the lines and somewhat intricate detail of engravings that made it looking like FF style sci-fi (particularly FF13-ish scifi).
I just suck at drawing blocks of metal which should be appearing in Western Sci-fi.

I love reading but I actually hate writing.
Well because you're an MA and the information/intellectual exchange these days are still relies heavily on texts. If we can develop a way like the prothean's echo shard, we'd probably don't have to write that much. But still....
I guess it's more about getting the right professor as your adviser... mine is encouraging me to write like a writer. She used to work in the publishing industry and a hell of a good writer herself, so she does know what it means to write up something that's well-structured and readable. :3

Yeah, sadly my advisors were all older, dry, intellectual men and women, so they just wanted facts and impartial reviews of the history and and techniques of art. I'm so glad I want back to school a few years ago and got my BA in Graphic Design, it helps in the real world a lot more than a Masters in Fine Art and Art History.
Tho, amusingly, I'm actually finding myself in a writing role for a comic book using my world ideas. It's so weird, I thought of myself as a writer, but people seem to think I can do it, so I'm going to do it.

Ah, Art History, they're a hard bunch to understand (no offense).
And it's good to know you've actually gotten a Graphic Design degree. Because that kinda means you can incorporate your knowledge in MFA as source of inspirations for your creation. Well at least that's how my Reaper War Series were born.
Yeah and it's not until now have I "actually", "firmly" realized that my professor got her PhD on Cultural Policy, as we don't offer policy studies courses in our institute. No wonder she's all into my studies and stood up for me when other professors questioned the appropriateness in writing a discourse analysis on policies as a paper representing our institute. Our institutes actually focuses more on the industrial research aspect of the Creative Industries, I'm taking a detour by focusing on the political/stakeholder relationship aspects.
