Protheans called their other-world "Memoria." It has no religious meaning; Protheans don't believe in ghosts or afterlife, but it's just a kind of figure of speech of how they can revisit places and see their loved ones through their Echo Shard.----------------------
I was originally wanting to draw something soft, because this vorcha assassin commission is bugging my head off.
And then I thought of this key panel of Magna tapping into Vahana's mind and took the form of Vahana's mom, who was the Empress Consort. She passed away during her labor, so Vahana never saw her mom in person.
And then the whole thing just turned into some outrageous glowing picture of I don't know why.
Anyway, headcanon tells me Vahana looks exactly like her mom, just different color. Her mom has eyes that are like sapphires.

And OHHHH yes, now I see them. That's really cool! I thought they were part of her veil at first, and then I looked a little harder, and then I saw the wings start to come into focus.

You sure? Her veil is a completely different part from her 'wings', it's very subtle.

My eyes drifted from the veil, and then I saw the wings separate from the background. At first, my eyes thought it was all one large piece, but when I gave it the closer look, I saw the details.
It was fun to discover the subtlety. Adds to the ethereal element. (I tried to explain what I meant in a few sentences that failed miserably...maybe I'll try again in a little bit.)

By the way, the depiction of Vahana and her mother is very calming. Does Magna really see herself as a surrogate mother for Vahana? The background between the two must be interesting then. ^^

Yeah, like I got the pose and the face done, it's super badass sexy vorcha, but the costume is hard to draw. And then I had to derive myself into this intricate queen garment thing to balance it out.
Magna doesn't see herself as anybody. Let me quote one of her lines from the comic script:
Magna: Melusa. I. Live. Die. Time. No matter. Alanetti. Vahanetti. Live. I. Ghost.
While 'melusa' means 'no matter' in Inusannon language. She simply referred her self as "dead but then brought alive again, so time doesn't matter, and being alive nor dead doesn't matter, either."
Her ultimate goal was to deal with Harbinger for once and for all. But even I don't know the reason, I only know she would regain a glimpse of her past-life memory when she knew Harbinger was around.
