Description
Used the Kodak M1033 on 640 x 480 HQ mode to record this sketching fun piece. It's raw and uncut so you see how I go about doing my pencil work.At times I'll have music playing in the background or the TV going but today was a quite day
Also, used a Pental Techniclick 0.7 HB mechanical pencil on Card Stock paper.
No audio just good old fashion sketchin

hearing no sound other than the pencil moving on the paper is really...relaxing. I find myself anticipating the next stroke on the paper lol

Only as a colorist back in 1999 - through a studio that I worked for at the time. It was very small work though.

Pencil is unimportant. It doesn't draw, neither the hand. The thought process, structuring it, constructing and thinking the right way does it. When you understand the craft, toothpick and eargrease does the deed, not a fancy drawing tool.

Wasn't that a little uncalled for? What you said is true, of course, but what's wrong with some innocent curiosity?

Nothing's wrong with it.
I am sorry if I went a wee more poetic in my way of expressing myself. Sorry if I have offended you, that wasn't the intention nor to patronize.
True, it's uncalled for.
Curiosity and willingness to explore are what it's all about.

(Can working this clean qualify as sketching?)

well...thats just insane. i mean, now i know why my lines looks totaly messed and some pros just make it clean as...vacuun ._.
i mean, those strokes, i'm just unable to draw like this, even when doing straight lines ,i mess it up by not being able to do it with a single stroke, you just go and draw it with one stroke ,even circles, also the material i use is by far inferior (exept for the mech pencil) those erasers are just magical ._.
so something i want to ask...is it possible to get that "one-stroke-even-on-circles skill"?
i'd be really glad on receving a reply even if it only says " GO SKETCH SOMETHING TO LEARN IT BITCH"
sorry for the huge posting

You draw so fast with such great quality, and i was wondering to know what your gonna sketch before you start or to you just have a ruff idea and continue to add on to it as you go

One always needs a plan in order to execute it so think then draw, that's the best way

no eraser dust, you can kindof renew the eraser by folding it up and letting it absorb more and more graphite. and they're fun to pick at and throw at classmates on lunchbreak. lol

You've got to be one of the quietest artists EVER! I'm usually snackin', fartin', or blabbin' (to myself, that's right!), or something! I didn't realize that there was sound to this clip, 'til the end! :lol! I love sketching, and it's, sometimes, how masterpieces are born. Thanks for sharing!

do you have an idea of what your guna sketch before you start or do you kind of just go where ever your hand takes you?

StevenSanchez In reply to Abraxas579 [2008-12-20 12:14:48 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, for the most part you need an idea of what you're gonna do, if not you're just walking blind. Sketching is a great way to play around with ideas and to work on quick thoughts as a test for yourself. So Sketch
