Description
Used the Kodak M1033 on 640 x 480 HQ mode to record this sketching fun piece. It's raw and uncut so you see how I go about doing my pencil work.At times I'll have music playing in the background or the TV going but today was a quite day
Also, used a Pental Techniclick 0.7 HB mechanical pencil on Card Stock paper.
No audio just good old fashion sketchin

Draw the lines a bit faster. Know where you're going with the line before you throw it. That's what Sketching is all about, the practice part

Just a heads up. All your answers normally will end up with you sketching and tons of practice. Everything else is pretty much technique

I completely agree with you. I sketch a lot..at work..class.. at home. But most of the time I feel like there is no breakthrough. I dont really know what I should be sketching San.

I understand you because I've been there. Here's something very important to remember when sketching, do it because you love it not because you're trying to make a quick buck Back when I first began there wasn't any internet to sway me into making a living besides getting into the comic book industry. Once the internet arose everything changed. I'm from the old school of learning where there wasn't much help and everything was self taught. Trust me, you'll get better because you want to. Don't force it, it'll come naturally and that's when you'll have fun doing it.

That's cool San thx for the advice.. trust me I love to draw..no intention on making a buck from it ..not just yet I wish you would make more videos on your YouTube channel.. I love just watching you draw your sketch shots starting from scratch. Showing all the steps is great. Its like watching a magician lol

Thanx bud. Actually, there's something currently in the works but I can't speak of it just yet, too soon and all but lets just say it's pretty big which is 60% why I don't post as much here on DeviantArt The other 40% is split up between comic book work and commission catch ups
Lots to do so little time!

From the looks of your creativity is limitless, for me it takes hours for me to decide what to draw(eventually coming out to be some type of manbearpig)...sigh, I will learn from this.

Steven,
You understand the structure, construction and space the form occupies. It's unimportant whether Joe Madureira or Manga inspires you; what matters is - you know the craft and you're good in showing how things are done and passing on the knowledge. Thank you for doing it well. I'm learning and charging my batteries by watching your art and videos.

You don't lay down a lot of construction lines. The ones you do get integrated into the finish. Every step seems to go forward - no backtracking, or very little. Very nice.

You've inspired me to get one of those Pentel Techniclicks. When I sit down to do a sketch I'm using traditional Steadler HB but they break too easily if I apply pressure for more a few seconds.

I've been drawing since the age of 4 and finding my own style took about 15 years, for others it's faster but I like to take my time

cool. By the way, have you considered making a book on animation or starting a comic? Not many people can do it but i think you would be very successful.
