Versión en español [link]My cooking tutorials:
Sorry for the large file!
Last week I decided I wanted to make a tutorial. Last Saturday, 7 am, I was half-sleep cooking french toast and thought it would make a great tutorial. Later that day I discovered it doesn't.
French toast may be too easy to deserve a tutorial, but well I already had the pictures... and I couldn't find another one in DA, so mine is already the better french toast tutorial, ha! (I hope that didn't sound as lame as it did in my head).
Bleh, well at least I got over the first tutorial issue. It was good practice and my next tutorials will be better, I promise
Awesome tips from awesome people:
It is a great way to use leftover bread (it can be a day or two old), and it's soft and moist

In France, that's a 'Pain Perdu' recipe
We made it with old slice of bread (the bread in France is different... I cannot succeed the recipe with old belgian bread...)

I wish I knew how to pronounce "Pain Perdu" wow I've never tasted it with real French bread, it must be awesome! Even Belgian bread must be better than my box bread

The 'french' bread is not the same in the whole France so... I don't know. Maybe the one I can found in the South-West is better for "pain perdu"
But yes, It's definitely marvelous!

Gah, I've forgotten all about making French toast!! I must make some again someday. I live in a Chinese family, so most of our cuisine is Asian unless I decide to come up with something.

i never realized how easy it is to make it. you have inspired me to try it sometime! i make a lot of bento for my lunches during classes and i get in the boring area because i never seem to have enough choices. i can always cut the pieces smaller and make sandwiches with fresh cut fruit, cream cheese, and sugar. i'm glad i saw your tutorial!

lol is Australia the ONLY country in the world that uses salt instead of sweet things to flavour french toast?!!!!
Give it a try sometime, instead of adding sugar etc cook it all up the give it a light salting nothing else. Very different taste!

In Germany it's called "Arme Ritter" which means "Poor Knights". It delicious!!! My mam used to make it when I was a child(Perfect thing to get a hungry child satisfied and to get rid of dry white bread)

Oh really thank you! I'm studying German, so I really like any kind of information on German culture! Arme Ritter is a lovely name! I can almost imagine its origin in old, difficult ages.
