Terms for using my tutorials
When using my tutorials or techniques explained in my tutorials all I need is that you say or write "Inspired by Talty" somewhere on the description, that's all I'm asking for. A link back to my gallery or tutorial is appreciated, but not necessary. You can make anything in my tutorials for personal or commercial purposes (yes, that means you can sell what you make) but you can't claim these techniques as your own. No redistribution, reposting or repacking of my tutorials, images, text or any part of them is allowed. They can't be translated to other languages without my permission (ask me about it). FREE TUTORIAL, NEVER TRY TO SELL IT.
Sorry for the extremely large file!
~thinkpastel had a wonderful idea and used circle templates (the kind used for drafting) instead of the washer! [link] She says that she can work any scale up to 1:4, so you can try that too!
I finally finished this tutorial! It feels like it took me forever
I hope this is understandable
I think it's implicit, but anyway: the measures I gave are only for reference! Don't feel restrained by my instructions - use a washer of any size you want! Also, I don't have cutters (yet) but use any cutter you want and make plates with beautiful shapes!
Please show me what you can do using this tutorial! I would really really love to see your plates with or without food

That's great news! Some people have been telling me that they've had problems finding a washer I thought they were really common!

They are, but people might not know where to look. I have to go into hardware stores to find them. I can't go to a general store or something like that.

I can find them in general stores, I guess I'm lucky anyway, thank you, I'll tell everyone that asks to try hardware stores

Yeah I thought so too. Maybe their just looking in the wrong places. My dad found two for me but the clay I have isn't drying and it melted when I tried to bake it. I'll just save up for good polymer clay. I'm sure I'll find it somewhere.

Really? May I ask what kind of clay are you using? #semi-sweeties has a list including all the places where you can buy clay and where's it's cheaper [link] it may help you!

I honestly don't know the name. I've had this stuff for years since I was a little girl and it's never dried out. I'm planning on buying some sculpey from Hobby Lobby soon...When I have spending money again.

i was just wondering, how long do you bake your plates for, and in what kind of oven (toaster or regular)? they're gorgeous!
π: 0 β©: 1
Talty In reply to snow-angels [2011-05-18 03:38:27 +0000 UTC]
I use a toaster oven, the plates are quite thin so I bake them for 10-15 minutes, just to be sure

snow-angels In reply to Talty [2011-05-18 20:51:16 +0000 UTC]
thanks! and what temperature do you usually set it to? (sorry, haha)
π: 0 β©: 1
Talty In reply to snow-angels [2011-05-31 05:45:47 +0000 UTC]
130Β°C or 275Β°F, I check the temperature closely with a oven thermometer and I make sure to never go above that or bellow 250Β°F.

A tip, washers are also in many things so you can sometimes find them if you disassemble things. I got a couple from a lamp!
