Terms for using my tutorials
When using my tutorials or techniques explained in my tutorials all I need is that you say or write "Inspired by Talty" somewhere on the description, that's all I'm asking for. A link back to my gallery or tutorial is appreciated, but not necessary. You can make anything in my tutorials for personal or commercial purposes (yes, that means you can sell what you make) but you can't claim these techniques as your own. No redistribution, reposting or repacking of my tutorials, images, text or any part of them is allowed. They can't be translated to other languages without my permission (ask me about it). FREE TUTORIAL, NEVER TRY TO SELL IT.
Sorry for the extremely large file!
~thinkpastel had a wonderful idea and used circle templates (the kind used for drafting) instead of the washer! [link] She says that she can work any scale up to 1:4, so you can try that too!
I finally finished this tutorial! It feels like it took me forever
I hope this is understandable
I think it's implicit, but anyway: the measures I gave are only for reference! Don't feel restrained by my instructions - use a washer of any size you want! Also, I don't have cutters (yet) but use any cutter you want and make plates with beautiful shapes!
Please show me what you can do using this tutorial! I would really really love to see your plates with or without food

I used to wear it back in high school.
I am a big fan of the series myself.

Mine is tungsten carbide, one of my favorite compounds! It's so sturdy, heavy and shiny... They had the gold version too, but I don't like gold too much and I really like this dark color
Oh cool you're a fan too! Lots of people were fans when the movies came out, not many lingered. I guess that the ones of us that still are fans are the true fans

WOW!! Thank you very much for sharing this~!! But...er... =.=" One question, where did you get the metal disc from...? (I dont understand what a washer is >.<
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Talty In reply to Zhoira [2009-08-10 01:14:37 +0000 UTC]
A washer is a little disc that is used to give tightness to a joint under a bolt or something like that. You can get them in any hardware store I bought two for less than 10 dollar cents. They're really common, so maybe someone close to you has a couple in their toolbox that they don't need.
I'm happy to know that you liked it I hope that you will find it useful
Thanks for the

I know... it becomes extremely easy with this technique You could buy several washers and make lots of plates with minimal effort. Once you learn the basic technique, be creative! Use interesting shapes, color it, even give it texture with a toothpick or something.
I'm so happy to know that this is useful I will love to see your results!

That's the plate I told you about the one I painted but had to re-paint because the glaze smeared the design. I'm so glad you liked it, although it was just a quick thing I made as an experiment.

Really? Wow it's great if I can now manage to make decent stuff in a couple of minutes It's actually pretty simple, if you look closely you will realize it's only dots I made with a glittery gel pen. It looks good, but I learned not to glaze it... the gel ink is extremely water soluble

Wow. I am glad you think it is simple. I should give it a try anytime soon. What is a glittery gel pen!!?!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Talty In reply to k-r-y-p-t-o [2009-08-12 04:25:55 +0000 UTC]
Well you know gel pens? It's like a regular gel pen, but... with lots of tiny glitters If you see the plate, you can see some glitters, specially in the yellow dots. They're very shiny, so I had to take the photo in low lightning or you would only see lots or sparks. The real thing looks very shiny, I love it
I think it's mica, like the glitters in pearled Sculpey colors.

Talty In reply to k-r-y-p-t-o [2009-08-12 19:03:05 +0000 UTC]
It is! Just be careful with the glaze... pens take a long time to dry, and the glaze or even just passing your finger can ruin the paint.
