Description
16 x 22Gouache and Watercolour paints with coloured pencil (and a little bit of marker) on watercolour paper
*** This is technically a re-posting of this illustration. I plan to do so with all of my Potter art work building up (hopefully) to having some new stuff to share there after. So if you feel like you've seen this before - you probably have. On the upside, I'm sharing it at a larger resolution and without the DeviantArt watermark on it now ***
I struggled with the layout of this painting a great deal. It suffered from my need to show as much of all the characters as I can show... I really like to do that, because I often time spend a lot of time designing them and what they're wearing, or something. I had the added challenge of being in Hagrid's hut - which I picture being very intimate - so everyone needed to be kind of close. Anyway, even though it can be confusing, I really dig how I do the invisibility cloak effect - and it was fun to show it off up close - I look forward to doing more with it.

OMG the way you've drawn the invisibility cloak is totally AWESOME!!! brilliant, beautiful, stunning!!!! I also love Hagrid's pose and your take on Lucius, with his very expensive clothes...

In a way, the invisibility clock just doesn't get drawn... from one side. It can be a challenge, but I'm glad it works

I remember the first time I drew it - I knew it was going to determine how I'd have to do it from then on. But I feel it worked out
Thanks so much!!!

You call this a house? I like Fudge’s design. Especially his green bowler

Thanks - though the bowler was pretty much a requirement from the book's description
