she,s getting there....just bear in mind that the kit is a vacform/mixed-media,not exactly a simple snap-fit!

i think the part i hate the most is just waiting for paint, cement and bodyfiller putty to dry/cure/stabilize.

there are some others too,who do even better work. but some of those guys{self-proclaimed perfectionists} will spend a year or more just fiddle-farting around on one kit! i do not have time for that, and i do want to get things done in some sort of timely manner. i would rather make a good collection to a decent standard in a more reasonable amount of time.

that makes enough sense, although i've seen one of those "perfectionists" models fall apart very badly once... whilst he was showing it off to me...

i usually prefer to buy things that are Industrial/Commercial/Military grade. might cost a bit more, but they do last, and i know i can count on them to work when i need them. Stubborn Old Cat,very set in his ways.....

carsdude In reply to TomCatDriver [2008-04-25 12:44:08 +0000 UTC]

reminds me of my building of a LARGE titanic model i had, until it got distroyed. every time i get a liner model it always gets broken some how to the point of no return.

BTW tomcat do you know if any model company sells a kit of the SS United States.

i always wanted to build the fastest liner in the world.

2 kits of the ship i know of,Revell and Glencoe{ex-ITC mold},both a bit difficult to obtain. Revell would probably be the better kit.
