Awesome!! I live close to the base so I'm a bit of a 32nd TFS fan
Soesterberg is scheduled to close this year... The first choppers are going to leave next wednesday, the beginning of the end sadly.

sad indeed.....after so many years. i felt the same way, perhaps worse for sure when the US Navy ended the F-14 Tomcat program.

Yeah that was also a black page in the history of (military) aviation indeed... Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen one flying But at the same time I don't feel like going to Iran to see some

i miss my Big Cat....Grumman had a super highly advanced and refined version of it all planned out,the Tomcat21,foolishly cancelled. it would have been glorious.

And now they've settled with the Super Bug, they're alright I guess, but nothing beats the Tomcat!

Sweet job! Ofcourse my judgement is a bit influenced by the fact that I'm a Dutchy

All these that we had at Tyndall when I was there had orange tails and wing tips. I saw many fly without pilots on board. A sad but noble end to a fighter. They were used as targets for fighter training.
