Description
just for comparison with the royal tomcat elsewhere in my gallery. this was the official original aircrew patch,and every squadron in the US Navy had their own version. for example-VF-84 "Jolly Rogers" featured the 2-tailed cat dressed as a pirate along with appropriate variations for other Navy units,also the only foreign customer{Iran}had the cat in a persian costume,nicknamed "Ali-Cat} Anytime,Baby!Related content

The Evil Queen would have an apple as her logo wouldn't she? Her side kick would have to be a man carrying an axe (the huntsman).
Great chatting with ya. I gotta get myself to bed...I gotta get up early. Time flies when you're having fun. Cya!

in my storyline,she would draw a Poison Apple on her Air-To-Air missiles with Magic Markers,a little something for a morale booster. actually,Her Majesty,s "sidekick" is me,flying in the back seat!

Felix was used on Navy planes for a long time,and was the marking of VF-31"Tomcatters",the LAST F-14 squadron in the USN.{retired Sep.22,2006}

Even though I am an Air Force veteran (enlisted) I have always liked the Grumman 'cats'. Was stationed at Tyndall and many Tomcats were TDY to our base for live fire exercises. I crewed the F-101 Voodoo which were tow aircraft and electronic (simulated) adversaries.

swift,im sure you remember General Daniel "Chappie" James,CinC of NORAD back in the early 70s. he was very interested in the F-14 as a possible F-106 replacement! General James did fly the Cat and he liked it! an Air Force Tomcat? why not? with that AWG/Phoenix system,Mr. Cat would have been a formidable interceptor for air defense of CONUS,but interservice rivalries and politics......oh,for what might have been!

I do remember General James, He sported a mustache that was not per regulation, and when questioned he stated that he wrote the regs and did not have to follow them! While at Tyndall the aircraft assogned to him was destroyed in a fire caused by a faulty starter. I watched it burn. I have a picture of it I found on the web, after the fire.
