Dunia being the sole heir of the king means she's destined to rule their reclusive pride, but if Dunia had a say, she wouldn't stay in the jungle for long. She was born with a sense of adventure just like her grandmother, and truly her grandmother was the only one who understood and encouraged her adventurous nature. While her father did joke with Dunia from time to time, he was still a very traditional lion, believing the outside world was not to be trusted. In his own words, Dunia would remain in the Jungle Pride forever, never to go beyond their borders. He claimed the world outside was cruel and harsh, but her grandmother's stories quickly vanquished these thoughts. Though her grandmother hadn't left the jungle either, her stories of what may lay beyond always fascinated her, and though she was still a young cub, Dunia longed to travel and see the world.

As she grew up, her odd personality often set her apart from the others. While most of the Jungle Pride preferred not to converse with outsiders and chase off any rogues, Dunia always hoped she'd meet a rogue who'd been to the outside world. However, with new rules in place, she couldn't even speak with the leopards, and so she was sheltered. But with encouragement from her grandmother, Dunia continued to dream of what lay beyond their jungle borders, what the world must look like beyond the foliage. Though she'd climbed trees to try and see beyond, she could never quite glimpse what lay beyond, and with her being the only heir, her father often kept her under close watch, meaning she never got to leave their territory even in secret.

Becoming a young adult, her father soon discussed her marriage to one of their pridemates, but Dunia wasn't interested in him at all. More than ever her desire to explore and escape filled her with determination, and when her grandmother suggested they sneak off and leave, Dunia's curiosity took over for her sense of responsibility, and so the duo snuck off into the night and left. Their first few weeks out of the pride were mesmerizing to say the least; Dunia had never seen deserts nor the scraggly trees that dotted the savannah, and even animals like giraffes were a new experience. Though the outside world was a bit scary, she was more focused on her excitement at finally seeing the world.

From time to time she'd worry about her family back home, but she always realized that if given the chance, she would do it over and over again. On their travels they met several new animals, and Dunia excitedly greeted each and every one, wanting to make new friends who'd had such different experiences than hers. Not many stuck around long enough to become genuine friends until she met Afua. He seemed just as friendly as her, and he allowed her and her grandmother to stay in his territory in the Mountain Pride. Dunia and her grandmother soon agreed, as her grandmother's health was weakening, and Dunia found herself becoming close to the pride, who she found were much more friendly than her home one.

However her best friend was Afua, and the two spent nearly everyday together. Dunia had never fallen in love before, yet she knew this was love, no matter how fast it went, and when he proposed marriage, she'd agreed. Though she wished to travel more, he promised she could still travel as his queen, and she eagerly helped plan the wedding. As the date grew closer however, it seemed fate had it out for her when a patrol from her home pride arrived, having tracked her and her grandmother down. They demanded she return with them, that she was shirking her duties, and now Dunia has to face her past. Though running away isn't the most honorable thing she's ever done, she knows she wants to stay with Afua, no matter what.
