Doctor Octopus from the movie “Spider-Man 2”.

Finally it is done after struggling for 2 weeks and half! This is my second attempt indeed; The first attempt is really a disappointed work, so I redo all the works. Yes, BIG investment on this work, I “sacrifice” my limited edition “Spider-Man” poster art (accidentally dropped my acrylic paint on it! ) As my friend, says, “You can’t be stingy if you want to create a great work.”

It’s painted for self-promotional only. First time using mixed media of acrylic and watercolor, on illustration board primed with gesso.

Lots of things have changed comparing with the preliminary sketches, but still using the same concept: representing a new image of Doctor Octopus – his powerful mechanical appendages, and his dark characteristics because of turbulent upbringing. I didn’t watch the movie, but these are the impressions of Doctor Octopus to me.

Hope you love “him”, ha!
