Thanks for the suggestion--I've never had/used a tablet, but just looking at what you can do with it here on this tutorial (pressure sensitive! WOW!)... I think it's love.

Haha, no, no confusing at all, as i told you is well explained, but i'm guessing it takes quite a while to finish a pic inking it by computer.

Andoledius In reply to Zorgia [2006-04-03 01:50:11 +0000 UTC]

oh! yes....your definitely right on that part. Inking can take me anywhere from an hour to 4 hours....depending on what im doing xD;

Zorgia In reply to Andoledius [2006-04-03 02:01:08 +0000 UTC]

Wow, 4 hours! That's quite some time, heh. But as long it gives you the result you are looking for, i say, go with what makes you comfortable

That's nice to see the waypeople build up their linearts, it does help. But you should add that dokuments at 72 dpi aren't made for printing - not to disappoint a few users who follow your guide to the t and end up with low-resolution artwork which cannot be printed

Andoledius In reply to engelszorn [2006-04-02 22:17:52 +0000 UTC]

alright! :0 will do ^^ is it okay if i put it in my desc. below the tutorial?

i understand what you mean though, i dont want to put up something like this, have so many people use it as a guide, then have it end up stabbing them in the back in the end :/

engelszorn In reply to Andoledius [2006-04-02 22:52:50 +0000 UTC]

Of course that's ok ^^ It's not your fault if people don't read what you write, heh

Wow! This is very helpful. Especially for me since I just started using Photoshop. And, being the slow learner that I am, pretty much gave up trying to learn lineart. xD;
I love how you go into detail with everything. It makes it so much easier to understand. n___n

Line art is my toughest skill to learn, though only digitally. I'm good with my Sakura pens.

You use some really interesting techniques, I really like how you categorized the strokes. I just wish I could figure out how to activate my tablet's pressure sensitivity. ;___; It seems so useful.

Anyways, great work!

Andoledius In reply to OmniNashi [2006-04-02 20:24:18 +0000 UTC]

well if your tablets installed right, you could go to Start>All Programs and look for the brand name of your tablet C: like...for example....when i click on Start> All programs, i see the word "tablet" in the row of programs. so either look for that, or your tablets company name

Im terrible with pens xx; i've always wanted to learn how to use them correctly, though xD

MissyLily In reply to ??? [2006-04-02 03:37:00 +0000 UTC]

Seriously though, this tut is awesome. Most of the time lineart tutorials do the set up with the brush size and pressure sensitivity and stuff but then the actual process is a mysterious middle step never illustrated, kind of like "then you just do it, and you're done" which when you don't know how to -do it- leaves much to be desired. I'm really pleased with the fact you went over how you tackle certain lines and which ones you use which method on.
I've been looking for a good reason to tackle digital lineart for a while (past attempts have been.. interesting) this will help! Thanks!

Andoledius In reply to MissyLily [2006-04-02 20:26:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, thats the bad thing with most lineart tutorials >< i suppose i kind of did it with mine, when i changed from step 6 to step 7 xD; but then i went over everything, so i guess that makes up for it

good luck with your lineart!
