any version of photoshop?
does photoshop elements count?

Andoledius In reply to nonimoos [2007-08-16 00:33:25 +0000 UTC]

hmmmmm.....I've never personally had elements, so i dont know what it has for features. If its got a way to change your brush settings (and has pressure sensitivty for a tablet pen) then yes, elements works C:

Sorry i cant be more help :/ i dont even know where to look for the brush settings D:

One Q: Do the Tablet need to be a pressure sensitive one?

Andoledius In reply to IcecoldAngel [2007-07-30 16:01:52 +0000 UTC]

hmmmm, thats strange :0 what size was your lineart at? if you set the sharpness too high on the brush settings, it can effect the way the brush will come out on the screen (especially if its 1px or close to it).

I've never heard of anything like that happening before :/ what kind of tablet do you have/ how old is it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kristine-X3 In reply to Andoledius [2007-07-29 04:35:00 +0000 UTC]

Haha, never mind. I figured it out. XD I was just being stupid and couldn't figure out that "Oh! My opacity is at 28%!" Haha. You have permission to shoot me.

oh okay C: im glad everything worked out xD

and dont worry, i do stuff like that aaallll the time. sometimes i'll lock layers by accident, wonder why my brush decided not to show up anymore, then exit out of photoshop thinking theres something wrong with the program |D; (it only happened once, but still xD; )

THANK YOU FOR THIS. Just tested it out and is muchmuch easier than using the pen tool thingy (and less time consuming). Also gives a nice result.

Great tutorial!

how do i set my tablet to pen pressure?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Andoledius In reply to sven-is-kool [2007-07-13 20:36:53 +0000 UTC]

usually it does it automatically, but there should be a tablet folder in your program files that you can access, which will allow you to change the settings on your tablet (its usually the name of the company that makes your tablet).

Great tutorial. I've been trying to learn lineart, ever since I started using computors on my art since about a weeks ago. I got CG for the most part, but lineart is hard. How long did it take you to get that good, Andoledius?

hmmm, it took a while of practicing before i really got a good technique down ^^ maybe a year or two :3 but everyone learns at a different pace :0

hmmmmmm people have had issues with this clip board thing before Dx (im not familiar with elements, either)

try going to the windows dropdown and see if theres a brush setting anywhere, or shape dynamics...or anything like that xD; if you can find those then your all set :0

sorry im not much more help xx;

OMG THANK YOU I suck at lineart and this will definatively help...as soon as I can use my tablet decently that is. The conversion from paper and pencil to tablet can be rather hard to swallow but I'll get the hang of it. Can't wait for the coloring tutorial! That ought to be interesting!
