I use to see a lot of PPsh sub machine guns when I was a German soldier reenact in fact the PPsh ended up in the heads of both combatants on the eastern front. Still a very fun gun to play with.

Nice work Old boy, even in the the original cerilic.

It was quite common among the German, they reworked some samples so they could use the MP40 chargers,
but more frequently they kept them that way, and used the ammunition of the Mauser pistol C96 or the ammo captured on the enemy.

Interesting you should mention the ammo, when I was a re-enactor  I noticed that the blanks we fired in the MP-40 were the same as the ones that the PPsH fired. However modern weapons are temperamental around blanks and if they don't feed just right you get lots of jamming.

The PPSh had to be refurbished to shot the 9 Parabellum, and in this version it was called MP41 (r)
while it could shot the 7.63x25  Mauser because it's pretty close to the 7.62x25 Tokarev, , The first to use Mauser ammo for captured russian PPsh were the Finnish.

Ah the Fin's, was that during the Winter War, before Barabarossa?

Oh yes, after 1941, during the so called Continuation War.

It is a pity that there is no PPS 43, in America it could be worth up to $ 26,000

www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGGguF…

or a PPD 40 which could worth circa $ 29,000

It was a dialogue of the main character of the film with an illegal arms dealer (black digger) from the Russian cult film "Brother 2"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNfs1J…

Sorry, low res only.

Most part of the weapons that are now being excavated at the sites of old battles are being restored and then transported for sale outside the country under the guise of "replicas." If "someone" is interested in the topic of buying such things for collection, then i would advise asking about it on russian thematic weapon forums. Of course, such topics are not advertised, but people can give a link to someone who can help in this matter...

And that's why i highlighted the part about TT in bold. In the 90s, the TT system pistol was the favorite weapon of killers due to cartridge power - it can penetrates most civilian body bulletproof vests up to medium level protection. That's why the dealer says: "Tokarev, aka TT, today alone, i'm sorry, quickly snapping up."

This time I was driven by the search for a good graphic rendering, I changed the white background from publication and I used the Cyrillic that seemed to have a good impact, thinking that these iconic weapons did not need a Western caption. Maybe I was a little presumptuous.

This was the third standard sub-machine gun adopted by the Red Army  during the war, and was designed by A I Sudarev

Interesting to find out more about some of these weapons I've seen in movies and played with in some of the older CoD games. The new background is pretty cool and a lot better than the plain white ones. My only complaint is that it was kind of difficult matching the weapons you were talking about in the notes with the drawings (I can't read Cyrillic).

AndreaSilva60 In reply to Kaze-Youko [2018-08-23 17:35:39 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, I really like the old paper background too.  I understand your point of view, and in fact in the original table I had written the Occidental acronyms of the weapon too, but in my mind it  decrased the graphical impact of the plate.  This time I preferred the aesthetics  to the substance, put the blame on my italian soul

It always fascinated me how the USSR could produce very good weapons, but couldn't maintain building, roads food supply etc and appliances, cars etc for the public were rubbish. How does that work?
