Stardate 2368.21, With the huge success of rebuilding the Federation Armada from the Borg encounter of 2366/2377. Starfleet turns it's attention to the latest in space exploration, the Intrepid-Class. The Intrepid-Class is the conception of Dr. T'Pan of the Vulcan Science Academy and her husband Dr. Christopher also nearly the entire design and development team consisted of Vulcans, including those Starfleet Engineer that where involved in the project. Other then Dr. Christopher, Dr. Lewis Zimmerman of the Daystrom Institute of Holography was also a contributor as he developed the first Emergency Medical Holographic Program (E.M.H. Mk-1). Aside from the EMH, newer technology was also incorporated including the bio-neural circuitry, variable warp nacelles and employed the first Class-9 warp core with used a theta-flux compositor to recrystallize the dylithium.On Stardate 2370.19, the prototype U.S.S. Intrepid was lunched from the Surak Shipyards, orbiting Vulcan under the command of Captain Solok.

Stardate 2371.4, While undergoing the installation of a Class-8 warp core, Admiral's Owen Paris and Norah Sati unexpectedly visits the Enterprise-B at Utopia Planetia. Without any warning or the option to refuse, Commander William Riker is promoted on the spot to the rank Captain and is transferred to the newly commissioned U.S.S. Voyager (NCC-74656) as it's commanding officer. For the past two months, Captain Riker buries himself in Voyager's design schematics, is brief on the latest intelligence reports on the Maquis' and begins to select his senior officers. His first assignment was to takedown the Maquis ship Val Jean and recover Lieutenant Tuvok, his tactical officer that has been undercover in Maquis for a little over three months. However during a staged exchange with a Ferangi raider, the Cardassian cruiser Kraxon intercepted the Val Jean before Riker could and pursued them into the badlands where a massive displacement wave pushed the Val Jean into the Delta Quadrant.
Stardate 2371.09, Captain Riker receives news that the Val Jean is lost presumed destroyed. With a change in his orders Riker begins a systematic survey of the badlands to search for survivors and or the destroyed ship. However like the Val Jean, U.S.S. Voyager was swept away into the Delta Quadrant where he found the crew of the Val Jean in suspended animation on board a space station known as the Caretakers Array. But the Caretaker himself captured Voyager's crew and placed them in the same suspended animation for over three days where he studied there genetic makeup. When both crews found themselves on Voyager, all but two members was missing. Ensign Harry Kim and Lieutenant B'Lana Torres.
Stardate 2371.091, Voyager's science officer Ensign Samantha Wildman tracked the energy pulses from he array to a remote desert world. After running a tans-spectral analysis she determines that the pulses also contain a from of bio-molecular matrix that in some fashioned transported Kim and Torres to the planet serfice. the Val Jean's captain, a former Starfleet officer named Chakotay agreed to help Voyager find there crew and get them back home under the condition that he, his ship and crew are allowed to go back to the Maquis. Seeming with little options, Riker agreed.
When Voyager and the Val Jean entered orbit, they where greeted by a Talaxian freighter captain named Nelix who clamed the debris in orbit was his.
