Thanks I read your FAQ and articles a few days ago they were really useful. Sadly I live in Mexico and it seems that polymer clay is difficult to find, none of the stores you listed exists here... I've been looking for a couple of days now, but I will not give up!

pepper-spaz [2008-05-08 23:02:32 +0000 UTC]

i have a question...
Don't you need to bake it or something so it doesn't get squished?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to pepper-spaz [2008-05-08 23:07:37 +0000 UTC]

What is polymer clay?
-Polymer clay is actually not clay at all. It is a form of plastic. The only reason it is called "clay" is because of it's clay like properties. It is a mold-able substance that can be cured in a normal oven (or toaster oven) and will remain strong after baking.

wow tats awesome but can we use a microwave to bake it or u use the ol fashion fire?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to habib03 [2008-05-08 17:08:13 +0000 UTC]

You can use a microwave to bake clay but it can be very tricky.
They post instructions how here: [link]

I haven't tried it before because someone here on DA put it in the microwave alone to cook and it ended disastrously. I prefer using a normal oven or toaster oven to bake my clays.

toaster??

chat-noir In reply to habib03 [2008-05-08 17:40:56 +0000 UTC]

Not a normal toaster, a toaster oven. It looks like this: [link]
And works as a small convection oven.
