When I reached 450 watchers I had a poll asking people to select a category for the 500 watcher special. Below is the result.

When a monster emerged from the ocean depths to attack the city, the people were caught completely unaware. There were stories about giant magical girls who would fight the monsters and drive them back into the ocean but that was a long time ago. Only a few people were old enough to remember the days when that actually happened.

Evan knew his great grandmother was one of those people. She told him about a mysterious magical orb that gave one the power to fight the monsters. The monsters remembered too which was why they had not been around for decades, but this was a new generation of monsters and they needed to be reminded why it was a bad idea to attack the city.

At first, Evan was just as unprepared as the rest of them. Then he remembered the magic orb his great grandmother told him about and where it could be found. He went to the basement of an abandoned building and opened an old wooden box. Inside was a glowing magic orb just like she said.

Immediately, after grabbing the orb, Evan became much bigger. The growth was happening faster than he expected so quickly ran outside before he damaged the building. He had to duck and turn his body at an angle but he made it out in time.

As he continued to grow, Evan realized he was also changing gender. It was an annoyance but he, or she, did not have time to worry about such things. She had a job to do.

Her clothing changed form to match her new appearance. All that remained was a dress resembling a swimsuit, a pair of boots, and something wrapped around her hand. They grew as she did because even giant magical girls had to conform to the rules of common decency. Evan was definitely not going to argue about that. Her situation was embarrassing enough as it was.

People watched from a distance as the giant girl walked up to the monster and pushed him back towards the water. The monster retaliated, but that was fine with Evan. She could take a few scratches as long as both of them left the city.

Once a good distance into the ocean, Evan and the monster fought each other. This created huge waves. Fortunately no one was foolish enough to go to the beach just to watch the fight.

Despite her enormous strength, Evan found herself overpowered by the monster. Then she remembered she had become a giant magical girl. This meant besides being a giant, she also had magical powers. Evan found she naturally had the ability to use magic and sent a beam or two the monster's way.

This time it was the monster who was completely unprepared. The monster headed back into the ocean never to return. However, there were other monsters and Evan needed to be ready.

The people thanked Evan who had done the same job as the giant magical girls of old. When Evan turned back to normal size, she remained female. She asked her great grandmother about it and she explained that was the price Evan had to pay for being a magical girl. She also learned something about her great grandmother who had once spent her time fighting monsters.
