Percisely.
I need a month since my first time using GIMP.
And longer than that to be able using the brush dynamic..
You might learn faster if you know a bit about vectors and how do they works

am i paranoid or does the traced image look unpolished. it looks like the line isnt smooth(like in manga / comics). is there a way to fix that?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Dawn-Shade In reply to acerookie1 [2011-11-24 14:11:16 +0000 UTC]
of course there is!
set the brush dynamics to velocity, and you'll get a smooth line!

This is extremely helpful, but using the paths tool is very difficult for me!

Dawn-Shade In reply to NekoPartyNyan [2011-05-08 16:49:31 +0000 UTC]
don't worry. using path tool is just like when you first learn a new music instrument. It hard at first, but you'll master it soon and become fast with it..

Im having trouble saving it like when do some paths, then stroke then save and close, when I open up afterwards all the strokes are gone.

Dawn-Shade In reply to XxMusicallyInLovexX [2010-12-31 02:38:45 +0000 UTC]
the brush strokes or path that you looking at?
If path, They're not gone. To see them, look at the another tab your Layers window.
By default, they're Paths tab right after the Channels tab.
If you didn't find it, i'll give you screenshots.
If you mean brush strokes, i have no idea why. Maybe it's hidden or something.

SilverWolf14 [2010-12-26 04:16:03 +0000 UTC]
It has 'Brush Dynamics.' And it has an opacity scale, size scale, hardness scale, and color scale....I have a tablet, but lost the CD. SO I cant figure out how to get strokes to look like they are pressure sensitive. Can you do that in gimp? Instead of straight hard lines? :< ANY help would be awesome. Great Tutorial btw.

Dawn-Shade In reply to SilverWolf14 [2010-12-27 08:32:16 +0000 UTC]
Of course it can!
Set at emulate brush dynamics before you stroke, don't forget on brush dynamic properties, set size on pressure.

I'm not sure I'm understanding this.
How am I suppose to apply new anchors? Whenever I do what you said to do, it doesn't work. Do I have to change tools to get it to work?

To apply new anchor: shift+click
