Description March 14, 2012 Prompt: Massage

A day late, I know, but that's okay, since I did the majority of the work on this piece yesterday. What matters the most, after all, is making some really good art for KidLiz Week and I wanted to keep working on this one until I was satisfied.

I didn't expect to fulfill the "Massage" prompt, since I felt I had already covered that theme pretty well in my Frustration fan fiction [link] ...ha ha. Oh, well. I enjoy surprising myself.

Prompt Interpretation

While taking a break from training and going on missions, Liz lolls on the couch and complains about her feet hurting from all of the running and fighting. Eventually, Kid becomes tired of hearing her dramatic whining and decides to do something about it. Taking one of her feet in hand, he begins to massage the sore muscles and chastises Liz on not taking proper care of herself, on wearing high-heeled boots all of the time, etc. The feel of his cold hands on so sensitive - and so erogenous - a part of her body causes Liz to tremble and panic. She tries to get away, but true to form, Kid won't let her leave until he finishes what he's started... and taken care of her other foot, too, of course. Liz is just thankful that Kid is oblivious to her squirming and the blush burning across her face.

Alternate Interpretation

Since I decided to put them in their casual clothes from Frustration, this could very well be considered a "continuation" of that story. After they leave the shooting range in the basement, Kid "gets his revenge" on Liz for the rather stimulating back massage she gave him by pretending to not notice the way she is shuddering in... frustration from the foot massage he kindly insisted on.

They both snap and promptly begin to make-out on the couch soon afterward.

After observing and studying the subtle sense of volume and depth in Gin-kyo's Art/Artist piece, I realized just how flat a lot of my pieces are - how all of the important stuff is always shoved up into the foreground. So I decided to challenge myself and take on that most terrible of artistic opponents: Foreshortening. (Duh duh DUN!!!) To my utter amazement, I was able to churn out a sketch that I feel really good about without using any photo or life references at all. (Except for some screenshots as reference for the interior of Gallows Manor.) I know it's not perfect foreshortening and perspective, but I like it anyway. The initial sketch, though, had a lot of things proportionally wrong with the figures, but after looking at Gin-kyo's pencil sketches, I was inspired to not "settle" and to keep working until I felt better about the proportions of the limbs and such... Look what you're doing to me, Gyo! Making me work all hard and make progress. >.<

I hope you enjoy!

firstly- fantastic fic right there. Oh my. You really nailed this raw, violence that is so perfectly laced with an odd relaxation (if that makes any sense)...and it ended on such a curious note, I can't wait for more ; P
secondly- I love this! it's simply just adorable... very charming.

And are you kidding! compared to my submissions, mine are the flattest- I hardly ever have anything deep in there XD
