December 16, 2011 Prompt: Persistent

Though I was unable to draw anything for the November prompts due to NaNoWriMo, I couldn't let all of these lovely December prompts pass by without submitting some KidLiz Christmas joy of my own!

Prompt Interpretation:

Kid, Liz, and Patty are out searching for the perfect Christmas tree to decorate Gallows Manor! Of course, Kid's standards are - like always - way too high, so who knows if they'll ever actually pick one... Good thing Liz is too pleased at being arm-in-arm with her endearing Reaper to mind (and Patty is too wrapped up in her new favorite Christmas carol to care).

I was actually inspired to draw this tableau after watching an episode of the sitcom "Modern Family." A strange mix with SE, I know, but if you saw the recent episode "Express Christmas," you'll understand why. You see, all of the dialogue above (including Patty's song) is taken DIRECTLY from that episode. WORD FOR WORD! In that show, Mitchell takes his neice Alex and his adopted daughter Lily to a Christmas tree lot so that they can pick out a tree for their family... and the above conversation ensues. Between the "OCD," the "eight-foot tree," and the "symmetry," I was in hysterics for an hour afterwards! It was just way too much like something Kid would really say, so I borrowed their script exactly for this drawing. Skip ahead to 06:30-06:50 for this dialogue.)
