When used as a gramatical particle it sounds like wa.
But when read in a word it will always sound like ha.

So when you say "I am Bob"
The senence sounds like: watashi wa Bob desu.　

But when written out the sentence appears like this:
watashi ha bob desu.　わたしはBobです。

Understand?

I often do the same thing. I sometimes wonder how I've learned as much Japanese as I have because I'm so inconsistent with studying

I don't have one bit of Asian blood in me and I'm currently taking 3rd year Japanese in High school

Really? I'm one-fourth. My grandpa is full and he and my mom speak some so I decided to learn too ^^ ...that and you can get paid around 50 or more bucks an hour to translate around here...

For me, learning Japanese was sort of a random whim.
I mean I was influenced a little by my friends who watched anime and stuff. But I was always intrigued about learning a language and somehow Japanese is what I became most interest in.
Really I should probably be learning German, Italian or something European I suppose lol

I've tried Rosetta Stone for Japanese. That was back before I knew any Japanese haha

It's a god program but only helps if you already have some background in the language.
