The commissar was doing her rounds at the Eastern outpost, checking up on the troops and making sure everything was in order. It was a pretty boring posting; the outpost was one of five surrounding an airbase which was mostly abandoned since the fleet had come and taken most of the gunships posted here. However the Motherland still had use for the post, and kept a force just large enough to hold it there. It was now just one of those many posts dotting the planet. She hated it. Every moment of it. It was boring, there was almost nobody around to talk to aside from the regulars dotting the post, and with the threat level raised most of the day was spent patrolling for the Chinese or NATO. Issue was the threat level had been raised for months and there was never any contact with either force. Most grunts had gotten content, and lazy. It was her job to make sure they weren't. But she had given up on that weeks ago.

"Don't you just love the sunset? It's so pretty!" one of the Strelki behind said as she rounded the corner.

The other one grabbed her gun as soon as she saw the Commissar and acted as if she had been vigilantly keeping watch. "Comrade Commissar!" she said, giving the other a look to get up and act serious.

The commissar didn't respond. She gave the two a look and just kept walking.
