Description Grabbed my brushes and pens to try a drawing inspired by *RedApropos 's style.  This one's not my best work, for sure, but it's a fun, quick 'n' dirty way to color a traditional drawing that I might go for if I make any comics in the future.

If anyone's got any suggestions on improving this style (would bristol board be better than paper?), I'd be happy to hear them!  I'd be happy to hear any critiques you may have on the actual drawing, as well, but I already know that there is a large number of things wrong with this drawing xD

(Also:  This is categorized as 'traditional media' because the vast majority was done traditionally, and I just touched up a couple of scanning issues and used the paint bucket in the digital realm.  RedApropos follows the same strategy, but I'd be willing to change categories if anyone has a SERIOUS problem with it.)

EDIT:  Oh heavens!  I just looked at this and INSTANTLY regretted putting it in my gallery.  Banished to the moon scraps!

Rofl!  I tried so, so hard to make this not look incredibly creepy, and I THOUGHT I pulled it off... but coming back a day later, I'm horrified.

I don't think I could come up with a better reaction than yours.

While I've got your attention, you wouldn't happen to have any suggestions to improve the quality of the lines, would you?  I'm rather displeased with the jagged edges here, and you always manage such amazingly clean lines with your drawings.

Thanks for stopping by!

Practice is all it takes, man. You'll figure out a technique that works for you.

In my opinion, the unevenness of the lines has quite a charm to it.

I'm sure I will, at some point

And yeah, I too like the charm of traditionally drawn media and the lack of uniformity inherent in it, but I'm hoping to get something just a little cleaner.

Thanks!
