Your explosions are not that accurate.. Also there would be little to no fire... unless you are in a medium
otherwise... GREAT IMAGE!

The fireballs are most likely being fueled by the oxygen from inside the ships. In that case you'd get fireballs, just short-lived ones.

Almost, 3 of them are attacking the mothership.

And then they will go after the brother and sister ships, right?

Very realistic, and at the same time it is nerve rattling scene.
Those same "dark realism" and "dark" realism both add to the emotions of the image too!
Well done!

Do you mix it with 3D-models (of some of the ships) or are you actually divine so you do not need any and just use the polygon select tool and perspective guidelines to emulate the effect?
π: 0 β©: 1
JamesLedgerConcepts In reply to Equiliari [2014-01-17 20:36:32 +0000 UTC]
I don't use any 3D software, as I tried but ran out of patience. So, yes, I use the lasso tools and I get the perfect perspective by using the vanishing point tool in the photoshop filter menu. The tool allows for really accurate grids to paint over, or even paste shapes into. Especially helpful with text and curved objects. However, the grid only makes flat planes of course, rather than spherical planes.

Despite their 'tin-foil' reputation, I'd prefer something small and nimble. Like the equivalent of a Baleo submarine. Hardy, small crew, armed and with history.
