In the beginning ...in memory of "yellow day" i tried to tone the background yellow-ish. alas, my PS skills are horrid!

Frankly I have never found DA to be a community but instead a astranged collective of freaks looking for a place to be appreciated, now I'm not Mr MCHoolihan but I can say that that can be considered into some sort of dysfunctional family. And on top of that I see no reason to raise complaints about anything administrative on the website if it doesn't concern the normal browsing submitter, It's a website guys stop complaing. Jark keep doing your thing, whatever the things you do.

its easy enough to fabricate evidence, and everyone knows this, and whats this i head about the corp vs the community, let me point out THAT if your not here to to post art, (Textual or Pictual) your not ment to be here, basicly what im saying is that there is no corperation, its just all community, i have been a proud member of deviantart for long enough to believe in this website, but everyone her is foolish enough to believe, only what they see and the rumors that abound with it, without checking the true background first, then this website isnt something to be proud of, I DO NOT SUPPORT JARK, But, thats just because I DONT SEE TWO DIFFERENT SIDES, i see a good-hearted website, that i was once proud of, but after reading this, It is obvious that i have too re-evaluate my thoughts on this website.

For..... ive read the sides.... now your starting to anoy me, im sitting n the fence, all im saying is that there is no corp, if there is where is it, deviantart prints are a totaly diff thing from deviant art, im sorry if im flaming anyone, and yes this is my opinion, yes true on all acounts, i dont think that anyone can or should stop anyone from forming a corperation even if it were going to.... double crosses happen everyday, and thats just life... as i said this website is for images (and critiquers and people like that too

To think this is your opinion, and you're flaming the man who's trying to STOP IT FROM BEING A CORPORATION. I'm not a gungho let's kill spyed for his nerve kind of person, but it's still quite, and excuse me, stupid to say that you don't support him, yet you're saying it's just a corporation. It may do to try and actually read the sides before just glancing at the sides and then preforming your own opinions and flaming then on people.

you didnt get what i was saying, im not saying that the people who comment and encourage or just simply hang out arent supposed to be here... thats not what im saying, and its not a flame against those people... what im saying is that DA is a comunity, plain and simple, there is no corperation. im just a bit disappointed in going into the forums one day and finding that this suddenly isnt one group, and instead its two groups and there warring... This is a place for art, not for stuff like taking sides or whatever. if you dont understand what im trying to say, please PM me, ill be happy to help you understand!

So only ppl who post art (pic or text) are s'posed to be here? What about the ppl who like to lurk and look at art and comment and encourage artists but aren't artists themselves? I say they have a place within this lovely community too. They are a part of it too and they belong, whether they post art or not. They contribute too. I usually keep my mouth shut and my words few on DA, but I have to speak my mind here and now. This comment you have left is nothing but flame, pure and simple.
Irregardless of what you feel or what you think please re-evaluate your idea that certain people don't belong in the community. If some one contributes then they belong, no matter what we all may think about it.

I know that I've already commented on this work...BUT I have to say again that DA looked so much better back then...it looks to WIN98 now....if ya know what I'm saying...ANYWAY, THEY (DA current Administration/Staff/Whomever things they are in charge around here) need to come clean, tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help them GOD.
Artist are tired of the BS jark, I'm tired of it too....my daughter is confused about these incidents, and we are looking to move our art to another site, we don't have a place picked yet, even discussed making our own site...but this ordeal has to end, soon, for DA's sake, for the ARTist SAKE, for your sake....
What can be done to end this madness...???

I remember when I joined seeing posts from jark, and from matteo. I left for a while as I finished my first degree. I came back and there were new people. to be expected. then the new people got louder and the people who I enjoyed interacting with on DA quieter. and now it's come to this.
I'd like to see a graph of #new members/month since DA's "birth"...not sure why I'm just a stats freak I guess.

I wish I had seen the old days... If things don't pan out, you could always make a new deviantART-esque site... You could get the old mods and it'd be superful and the people would rejoice and the evil known as angelo would be left in the wastelandic shell of the old da with all its brimstone and skelletor beasts (?)

just to look at how low-tech it was back then and how the community and the original staff have brought it up to the high level of appreciation it is now is heart warming. But to see it on the brink of destruction due to someones ignorance and selfishness turns my stomach, this has been a sanctuary for many artists varying from not so good to unbeleivably excelent and unique. and though i'm not proud to say it, i think it would mentaly harm many people, because they are not able to express themselves to the world of others like them or otherwise, this site has changed many peoples lives more for the better than for the worse; people have flocked here to the forums and mesage boards to put in their

I've always wondered what deviantART loked like in the beginning. What were the features, the colors, the layout, etc.????

only thing I know, when you browsed the different sections, there wasnt any thumbnails, they were introduced in v2
also each section didnt have a page, (v2) the menu was an expanding one with subsections which took you straight to browsing
the colour scheme is the same
I know what the v2 layout looked like, but no the v1 layout
