In the beginning ...in memory of "yellow day" i tried to tone the background yellow-ish. alas, my PS skills are horrid!

I haven't been here for that long. About a year and a half? Interesting look into the old skool. Why didn't you keep the brain in the site? I like that brain!
As someone mentioned - the yellowing of the background over the gray does make the top half a bit green-looking. Then again, it's a color that goes well with aliens.

If I were you, I wouldn't just abondon the site...
It maintain a member ATLEAST... you would be without your supernatural abilitys... But your pressence would still be known and felt and, perhaps throught this, you maybe able to pick up your Probe-Sabre once again and strike down your enemies and obsticles to reclaim what is rightfully yours.

Jark, as much as I love mob mentality.. I hope this doesn't last for too much longer. I can't handle the lies. The back and forth 'He's lying' 'no he's lying.' I want there to be justice in this world, sure, but i'm incredibly naive...
I just want what's right for everyone. I wish things were back the way they used to be.
I'm told one man is the evil power, the coporate schill, the very embodiment of everything I've ever come to hate about mass commerce and soulless capitalistic ideals.
I'm told the other man is the messiah, the true creator of Deviant Art, and the only one who could possibly lead us away from ruin.
I've done the reading. I've considered both sides, rather than just give in to mob mentality.
To be honest with you, Jark, I never knew you before this entire thing went down. I'd never even seen your page. As far as I knew this little yellow alien around DA was just a mascot. I never knew he was a person.
From all that I can tell, you are a good man. You've urged all of us to remain civil in a time where all we want to do is riot. To remain polite and calmly ask for the truth, which you insist he's witholding and he insists he can't tell us. I'd be lying if I said i've been a little..... [link] less than civil. All the things that have been said throughout this ordeal... people are climbing all over themselves to get to Spyed, and a good number are just hanging around there and arguing with each other.
For god's sake, don't think that I don't want justice. I'm just saying.... it's tough trying to keep a cool, level head about this, you know?

Β°jark , this is wonderful. Is it true, what $spyed says, though, that he was the money behind the initial thing?
As a side-note, if you start up a new community, have you considered using a co-op model? I'm sure there are PLENTY of deviants here who would happily pitch in $20, $50, what-have-you in order to get a new site off the ground in exchange for dividends/profit-sharing later. If the community is what profits from making a profit, won't that encourage the community to balance its own needs and its desire for $$$? Or you could try being a non-profit -- that might be interesting. deviantART scholarships, perhaps?
Just a thought, anyhow. Presumably you and Β°matteo know best.

On the flip side, the diverse array of skills you have developed and displayed with regards to moving this site from a tech-art-geek idea to a full-fledged thriving community, well, those skills will take you well beyond this current ridiculous situation. When this is all a distant memory you will look back and a) still feel irritation toward spyed and b) remember that you were morally right and c) remind yourself that morally right doesn't always "win."

Can you confirm this: was $spyed just a deviant in the begining, or did he become staff early on? Just because you helped out in the early days doesn't mean you're a Co-founder. That's like me helping out in the Help forum and calling myself staff. EVERYTHING I see on site and offsite (except for $spyed 's journal) says you and Matt were the only original Co-founders.
When did that header go away? I am 98% sure I signed up under that header. I remember the brain...and the "nick" instead of username. If you were still "in power" I'd ask for a retro week where the old layout comes back. Years later and I'm still unknown, but at least I've grown as an artist.

God was a bit disappointed, so he went for a little walk, to think about his next step.

It's amazing to see how much support you have behind you, when most people probably haven't heard of or met you [which is pretty much expected because there's so many deviants and only one Jark o.0;].
I find it incredibly ridiculous to see that your work for the past 5 years, was suddenly ripped from your hands. I would be absolutely furious if I was in your situation, but I admire your ability to keep a level head and encourage civil behavior. I understand that it wasn't just you who started the site, and it wasn't only you that kept the site organized and running. But this site was born because of you and Matteo; you two started it all.
I hope all things turn out for the best, and I'll be rootin' for ya :}
