This tutorial covers my basic process from sketch to final product, and how I do textures in graphite. This was a tough tutorial to make - I can see why there isn't a "traditional" section for tutorials. Hope it's somewhat useful.Related content

Hehe, I was a little bit worried about the fur tutorial especially, because the technique is SO SIMPLE, although the results still depend on the amount of patience you have, and some amount of skill. Also, I learned from observing other people, so it's not like the process is unique to myself. ALSO, people tend to deviate from what they learn and begin creating their own style and ways of doing things, so it's not like everyone's going to start making critters identical in look to the wolves I made.
Haha, the fur tutorial is more popular (in terms of views) than the picture it was based on X3. People must really seem to appreciate helpful guides like that

of course... I rely on alot of artists to give me a boost.. given your fur example.. I would read it and follow it STEP by STEP.. then, I would folow this technique for a while until I find a more conveniant way for me to do it..
did that for photoshop colouring, I had a guide and I follow some guidlines but now some things are twisted to my liking becasue they are eaither to long winded, or just annoying to do..

Yeah, I haven't really used guides for anything - when it comes to digital colouring, I'm completely self-taught. I have, however, used a planet and star tutorial.

Ugh, yeah, it took me forever to learn how to colour stuff digitally. I used to use PhotoDeluxe 2 and a mouse, very limited tools. Then I graduated to PhotoShop 6, and then I got a Wacom, and version 7. It's taken me, like, 8 years to get where I am
Also, for the longest time, I had barely seen an digitally coloured work before, because I didn't have the internet, so I didn't really have anything to observe, either. Oh man, my early work was bad... I didn't know how to blend AT ALL *LOL*

8 years.. woooof.. thats a long time.. I've been experimenting for.. *counts fingers* 3 years, but only started digital work when I joined DA.. lol..
but I used lots of tutorials..
