) really spoke to me in my own language, it was exactly what I was looking for, looking back to my first major nude, Angie .[link] I feel like I have come full circle and ready for a new phase.
I'm really very excited.

thank you, that is is oil on canvas, I have not yet worked out how to get that strength of colour any other way then with Cad red oils. You do certainy have to be careful with it having said that, its blended and contained with in an inch of its life

I'm actaully doing a mirror reverse version to test the idea of doing an oil on a dark ground, so I can compare directly with the one painted on white canvas (the person who owns the first one is a friend of mine and encouraged me to try it)
So yeah the point is I'm currently painting that same cloth only backwards

Noticed you mention you work a lot with your hands with oils. There's a heap of cadmium red in this piece, so yes, you're dealing with some poisonous stuff there! I recommend tight-fitting latex gloves if you're going to put your hands in the stuff, but that's your choice.
Great composition and use of chroma here. I'd love to see more from you like this.

You are totally right, and will be pleased to know my obsession with finger painting ended when I started using cadmium colours, so its nearly all brushwork now. (my new skintone mix has cad red and cad yellow in it)

You are truely talented....thank you for sharing your work...it is truley beautiful...the pose is beautiful, the lighting gorgeous, the colors and way you painted the fabric, along with her pose, it has flow and movement, just beautiful.....would have been great if you had made prints of this one...i'd love to have one!!!!! i know what you mean about selling them....the money is nice, but once they are gone, they're jsut gone!!! you miss them... i had some one of a kind giclees made, and unfortunately am not able right now to get them reprinted....i want to sell them but am SO aprehensive about doing so...am asking a good price...but, also would miss them terribly......thanks so much for sharing your work....you truley are very gifted. take care.

thank you for the kind words, Art for money is a strange idea, but one we have to deal with I guess.
I might get round to making a DA print of this, but also I DO have a deal with publishing people. got a super high res scan of it so I can make giclees of it if I so wish

Excellent painting - rich and elegant - love the velvety texture of the blanket, the deep red color with varied color in the shadows, the way you captured light and shadow in the folds. Great work!
