Description
Oil on Canvas, 120cm X 90cm.First painting for the year.
Hooray.
It's a portrait of Marcy.
Been working on this forever. Maybe 150 hours..maybe more.
Here's some helpful WIP shots to give you all a sense of scale, and hopefully a sense that I really did have to paint the thing, starting with a white canvas...it was hard.

She's just gorgeous. And you're doing really very well here. The eyes particularly have a languid feeling about them that's lovely. Oh, and she's just totally gorgeous.

The poet here is your Mum? Or someone your Mum knows? Eyes are always better in the flesh - they are windows to such transient expressions, like windows showing inner clouds moving across the inner landscape.

everyone wants work from me nowdays, so I gotta just keep at it, had a whopping 1 day off after the last one, which took 5 weeks during which I took 2 days off...

beautiful ... great play with the skin textures in the hands and the button/bead necklaces really have alot to offer - the slight blue accents in the hair to the fingernails are nice and jumpy as well - great work ..*

I'm very happy you likes it, had great feedback from my gallery peoples as well, which is far more important then DA people in terms of moneys and stuff.
I maintain making you look beautiful wasn't really the hard part, it was them buttons and pillows

To say that this is "amazing" just doesn't seem like enough. Brilliant and beautiful and stunning! The skin textures, colors, shading, everything seems so perfect. Beautiful detail with the wrinkles. Just.... wow.

Whether she is the poet or not, I have no clue, but there's no doubt she's makes an amazing muse.
Gotta love that blue. And how you make the skin tones so soft and all the details so sharp is something I have yet to figure out. Keep it up
