Description Comments: I wanted to make a tutorial or guide that would help others in the comic/manga world. This is part 2 and covers basically the process involved from planning the layout and paneling to sketching to inking it in, and everything inbetween. This one is pretty long, but again, full of all the information that I could think of, and that I found would be helpful to others.

If you want to know where the manga page templates came from, I actually got them from the group I am in, ! Go and take a look! They have loads of neat stuff!

I made it myself with panel ideas found online. I just stuck them all in Microsoft Word, made them smaller and printed it.

I found mine at Staples, but it's not always in stock. I think you cn find some in office supply or art stores sometimes though C:

perfect!! but,i got a question T.T! what kind off paper did you use?i mean se size.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kita-Angel In reply to ALERIALS36 [2011-08-07 19:40:31 +0000 UTC]

I cut my own paper now, 7"x11" bristol card stock (11"x14" cut in half). Otherwise normal 8 1/2"x11" is okay too, but I find it too wide in most cases, if I use it for print purposes.

This is really good

I was just wondering; how do you know what size to make your speech bubbles if you do the text digitally

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kita-Angel In reply to OzAngel [2011-08-07 19:41:39 +0000 UTC]

I kinda guess and estimate. I also sometimes sketch text in there at the size I might use to give me an idea.

i think real mangaka must draw with pen and ink

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kita-Angel In reply to Aifonya [2011-08-07 19:44:07 +0000 UTC]

Yes, real mangaka in Asia use ink and dip pens, but I live in North America and such restrictions aren't really mandatory. I'm basically like any other cartoonist now: I use whatever I am comfortable with and what works for me! C:

Thank you! I'm glad you like the series so far

The title font from the top is called Abuse, and the main one for the rest of the tutorial is called Alabama. Both of them I got from a free font site, I forget which one. (most possibly dafont.com)
