This is part 1 of a three-part series I'm working on. This first part should explain anything you might wonder over when it comes to stationary emotes. The next two parts will deal with Simple Animation and Advanced Animation. Stay tuned.
If there is anything you feel remains unaswered in this tutorial, please contact me and I'll make sure to add it.

This is actually helping me out with an emote I'm currently making for my very first emote attempt. Animating it, however, is another story...

I love these. I've made several emotes before, but I just did it by winging it! I wish I'd had a tutorial like this. Hey, does anyone know if there's one posted on here that uses PaintShopPro (some of the stuff from the program used here doesn't translate well for me)

I used to have Photoshop and stuff, but I recently lost it on my computer... Do you think Macromedia Fireworks would have all the tools I need?

I would guess so, it's in the same "family", so to say, but I haven't tried using it yet myself.

Awesome tutorial, I will surely come back to it again, although I didn't use the gradient. Thank you very much for submitting it!
I've read it before I created my very first emoticon. And whenever I use a tutorial and submit the first deviation, I give the tutorial writer the link to it. Therefore here it is: A Hungry Monster's Rock World .

This is a pretty sweet tutorial. I'm just starting out making Emotes, and I need all the help I can get. ^^ (I personally use a program called The GIMP, but it doesn't seem much different than the expensive stuff.
) Thankyou for sharing your wisdom of Emoticons with us!
