Description
Or perhaps this should be entitled attack of the 400 Aiko's.This started as a 3-D version of a cel render I did earlier ([link] ), but then, it took on a life of its own. I wanted something for the main character to fight and ended up writing some code to position some 400 Aiko characters in the scene.

Ohhh!!! That's a cool trick in this one!! All those Aikos!!! I want a division in my evil army all made up of aiko ninjas!!! We shall conquer the world at last!!! I only need to remember that "mass clone" spell... if i could find my ring...
Great action scene!! I should consider moving on to Povray renders too if it can do such graphic tricks! If only it wasn't that slooooow.... Anyway even apart from the horde, the POV is quite good and the close-up character has a sense of deadliness.... thinking twice those aikos might not be such a great army! LOL!

Cool! What did you render it in, and is that hair in the main figure postwork, hair plug in, or transmapped?

Rendered in Povray 3.6. The hair is transmapped and available for free at [link]
However, the morph target for the hair was something I created.

Excellent composition and characters!!
. Seems to me that she's either in a great combat pose, or hesitating in cutting her neck overwhelmed by the odds. Hope it's the former, cuz would love to see this character again!!

She's enjoying the cold feel of the steel in anticipation...
It's hard to see, but the blade is pointed outward. I'm surprised I haven't had more comments wondering if she is cutting her neck to avoid the fight.

Thanks for the feedback, which makes me enjoy the scene much more. . Yes, the sensual feeling of cold steel before the fight.
Actually, it's clear that the blade is pointed outwards, though that could change in a split sec. When one imagines a story out of such a cool image, there's the possibility that more than avoiding the fight, she might be considering not giving them the pleasure to butcher her. They would get nothing out of her!
Again, an excellent work!

Geeezaz man, how long did this take to render??? O_o;;
Must have been challenging to render this, how did you manage the memory load?
or did you render each one separately and then added them to the background as postwork?
The Aikos look funny here, hehehe... Hope they all get beaten up!

Actually, it didn't take all that long. Only a few hours. It turns out Povray is pretty memory efficient. There are only 4 aiko ninjas in the background. There just happens to be a few hundred copies. Povray is smart enough to only allocated memory to store the 4 copies. (unlike firefly....) The code was a lot harder to work on. I really had to clear off a lot of cobwebs and remember my trig. It wasn't easy to get all those Aikos looks in one direction.
The whole scene does remind me of one of those cheap Kung-fu movies.

Oh, duh, I forgot you don't render with Poser. If that were the case, loading only 3-4 Aikos would already kill it.
