One of those rare realistic bubble tutorials! It seems that most people think that they are always round...
It helped me in the making of this [link] !

mindsend In reply to temary44 [2010-09-13 16:48:31 +0000 UTC]

Yeah -- most people when they think bubble, imagine them being like the soap bubbles. Which really isn't how it works underwater. 8'D <3 Glad it was useful!

X3 its one of the few out there -- most tutorials for bubbles are for soap bubbles or are just photoshop brushes for cartoony bubbles D8

A tablet is a pad with a pen that senses the movements of the pen and can be used to draw directly onto the computer. Look up "Wacom"

You've got it. Often people make their underwater bubbles too round. They flatten into a lens shape (as you show). The increase in size is most dramatic in the final 33 feet (10 meters) before the surface.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mindsend In reply to fogllama [2007-01-07 19:31:40 +0000 UTC]

They sometimes wobble a bit and take differnt shapes, but its true that people always seem to draw their bubbles like this

O

O

XD I try to do research on things before I draw them to try and make them more realistic, but bubbles was one of those few times I didnt need too -- I've watched enough bubbles in the past in fishtanks and the swimming pool to know how they worked when I was little. I would often experiment with them, breaking them up or trapping them underwater in my hand so they become one big bubble and breathing from them... XD Some say I'm A Pyrophile, which is true, but I'm also a bubble, water, light, and ice lover as well.

No problem! XD I make these tutorials not only to help others, but also cause... Well, its good to have how I did a particular thing written down step by step so I can remember how I did it. XD I refer to my seafoam tutorial every now and then while working on stuff. X3
