Description
This is a thankyou to all my watchers. After 3 years being asked to make a tutorial, it's finally here lol. Yeah a bit late and everyone has probably advanced past this tutorial level, but i hope it helps some artists nevertheless.I don't enjoy lineart so I'm using this recent one [link] and re-coloring it different from the original.
This is my full process of coloring lineart. I don't always use this process, but these were the same steps i used when coloring the original which can be seen here: [link]
It didn't turn out as well as the original, but i rushed it as much as possible cause i just wanted to focus on the process and it's the 2nd time to color the same thing. This took me about 6 hrs straight to fully write up and color so i apologize for spelling, grammar or just not understandable cause i haven't double-checked.
Feel free to ask questions!

Nice tutorial! Very easy to follow, but I desperately suck at airbrushing with the mouse ('cuz the only tablet we have is at my dad's sign shop. Arrgh!). Thank you so much for posting it!

What do you mean by 'block in colors'? Do you mean outline the area with the color and then use the pain bucket?

Hmm im not sure honestly im sure you can try it out by changing the brush settings accordingly.

Do you need an airbrush do create light and volume like this, or can you just use brushes?? I keep trying to shade but it looks so chunky that it almost looks like Microsoft paint from an amateur.

I really love this tutorial its just one little thing. Im confused as to the seperation of the layers. How did you do that? Help would be really appreciated its just that step is confusing the beejezus outta me :-p

It depends on what you are using to color with.
around where the layers box is, you'll see a little button that looks like a clean sheet of paper...Kind of flipping.
or, on the top left wher the file and image and stuff is, you click Layer and then New Layer.
or simply press Shift+Ctrl+N
