Alright, here's part 2! A note about printing the pattern: paste the picture into a Word document, and then resize it to fill the ENTIRE paper, even going over the margins.

If anything's not clear (which it probably is. I'm terrible at explaining things), feel free to ask.

Yup, you need to print out these four and all the other link patterns in the other parts of the tutorial. The first four you just printed out are just for the head.

cuz in your first pattern page it shows to make the lower head and horns attached, just taping the paper, not the actual fabric

Ooooohhhh, yeah I think I get what you're saying now. Yeah, tape those two paper pieces together to make one whole piece. Then use that for when you cut out fabric.

so the first part where it shows the head piece attached to the horns means that i need to sew the horns on first?

nooby-banana In reply to frostbite1064 [2010-07-10 19:42:30 +0000 UTC]

No, you sew the back of the horns on after you sew the head spikes on. I think you're misunderstanding where the horn pieces go. The seperate horn pieces are the BACKS of the horns. The horns that are on the head piece are the FRONT of the horns.

frostbite1064 In reply to ??? [2010-07-10 15:57:46 +0000 UTC]

like, do you have to do the horns alone and then sew them to the head piece or make them already on the head piece?

nooby-banana In reply to frostbite1064 [2010-07-10 19:35:11 +0000 UTC]

The seperate horn pieces (named Horn 1, horn 2, and horn 3) need to be cut out and sewn to the head pieces seperately.

one question:
on the top of the page you said that you need two of each horn pieces.
but in the pattern page, it shows that you need to make one side of the horn already attached to the head piece.
but then on the bottom, it says you need to stitch the horns on.I don't get it. please help me

Sorry, question for the spikes. When putting them in a word document must you rotate them to make them for the whole paper, or just stretch them sideways, or are they at the right messurement when pasted. Sorry to bother you with a quesiton but I realized it when I pasted it.

nooby-banana In reply to OpheliasCastle [2010-06-16 05:45:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah! You have to rotate the spikes so that they're vertical, and then stretch the image to fit the paper. Sorry for the confusion!

By the way, I know I am possibly the most frustrating person to ever do this tutorial, but just keep in mind that I am a slow learner and it takes a couple tries for something to be beat into my head. Thanks for the tutorial and your patience, though I'm sure I have single-handedly whittled it down to nothing by now.

Tis ok. I'm a slow learner when it comes to a few things too (especially music). xD Just ask if you need more help!

Aitnetroma In reply to ??? [2010-06-08 22:41:03 +0000 UTC]

Okay. So I may or may not have totally screwed up my plush already. Here's what I've done:

1. Cut out the lower and upper head pieces.
2. Upper Head B to A, etc. The appendages part are on top.
3. Spikes are sewn in the middle.
4. Now I'm trying to figure out the horns and my brain imploded.

Help? I will give you a cookie!

That and I'm worried I have screwed up at some point. Here's a link to my fail [link]

xD I see what your problems are.

1. You forgot to tape the pattern pieces together. Check out part one of the tutorial, it'll explain how to tape them together.
2. You cut out TWO pieces of the Upper Head and TWO pieces of the Lower Head. You only cut out one of each, and ended up with only half of the head. Pay close attention to the tutorial and the color chart I put of the head in part 2.

...me feel stupid. I shall just go crawl away in embarrassment now. I actually did cut out two pieces. I have no idea why I thought they were just extra now. This is why I shouldn't sew at nine in the evening.

nooby-banana In reply to Aitnetroma [2010-06-09 01:28:55 +0000 UTC]

lol, its ok. Everyone makes mistakes. But you're gonna need to cut out new Upper and Lower Head pieces after you tape the pattern pieces together.

nooby-banana In reply to Aitnetroma [2010-06-09 17:08:01 +0000 UTC]

Nononono, you don't tape the actual fabric pieces together, you tape the paper pattern pieces together, and then from that you cut out one whole fabric piece. Also, when sewing the Upper Head to the Lower Head, sew all the way down the biggest horn. I've got pretty clear pictures in my tutorial, make sure you're referencing it as you're sewing.

I'd also look up how to backstitch. The stitch you're using now isn't very sturdy and will fall apart when you stuff it. It also looks like you're sewing the head spikes on so they're sticking out the wrong side of the fabric. You need to sew them so they're sticking out the side opposite of the seams.

Yeah, I realized what I did wrong AFTER I posted that comment. No worries, I'm fixing it all now.

Violette-mei In reply to ??? [2010-06-05 22:05:30 +0000 UTC]

do you have to rotate the picture sideways to get it to fill the paper, (in the word document) or just get it to hit both vertical sides?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

nooby-banana In reply to Violette-mei [2010-06-05 22:38:41 +0000 UTC]

I don't quite understand what you mean. You shouldn't have to rotate the image at all.
