2 in one day? what blasphemy is this? but yeah, I ended up typing 2 at the same time for whatever reason.

this one's about gameplay and plot notes

didn't do an example for plot notes because spoiler spoiler silly. Guess I could have included plot notes to older already resolved elements, but eh, that assumes you're up to date reading, and it's best to not leave such an element in a general tip/trick guide

hey there, glad you find this helpful, and let's see here.

it depends on the person, but honestly I feel you're including TOO much while also skimping on plot, remember that there are a plethora of online walkthroughs that detail what happens in general flow of Β events like clock adjusting and the like, more so I feel it's best to focus around things particular to YOUR own playthrough rather than the things that can be fact checked at any time with a walkthrough.

I feel you should focus a bit more on elaboration of plot elements unique to your run in the notes and remember that you can look up at any time the walkthroughs to know when in game you set the clock, when you get pokedex and 5 pokeballs, and this can be looked up any time when drawing.

however things like plot need to have consistency and planning to hint at and develop plot points in the future.

unless of course you're just going with the typical game plot not adding your own spin (which I personally don't recommend), then all you really need is to detail the battles, and if battles are a breeze just not that they went easy nothing notable in that battle.

I have a question, would these be considered good notes? (These are my notes up till my first Rival Battle)

~ Got Fang, Bulbasaur, Male

~ Battled Rival, Won

- Fang Took out Charmander with Tackles

~ Caught Fireball, Mankey, Male

~ Caught Byte, Ratatta, Female

*Grinded*

~ Fireball died because I was dumb and let a wild Ratatta use tail whip one too many times.

~ Fought Rival, Won

- Byte took out Pidgey

- Fang took out Charmander

depends on how much you want to do with said rival battles. if you want to show more action, then you'll need more details. no need to Β say "I was dumb" type of things, just say why they died, don't beat yourself up in your own notes.

I recommend for the battles specifying more, otherwise you're good. how did you win? was it a clean sweep? a back to back close battle? mostly clean sweep but then last pokemon gave you lots of trouble? that type of specification will help you write it more

Using different kinds of bullets can be a great help for organizing as well, for instance,

-game stuff like where you are, etc..

[PokΓ©mon dying/being boxed

and you can use as many symbols as you need if you do want to jot down stuff like battles, dialogue and stuff.

for sure, though everyone prefers their own shorthands and organization when it comes to notes, why I just noted that shorthands are good, but just go with the ones you're most comfortable with, no shorthand is clearly the best way

no problem, and hey, I don't even have game notes, so you're already doing better than me if you've got notes. I do have a lot of plot notes though

I bet... You have a lot of plot.

Notes, notes... A trap for obsessive mice who won't even put them to good use but end up with more than 20 DIN-A4 pages of them (this might, or not, be based in true facts).

I'd want to point out that a word processor can be really helpful when taking notes. They end up very clean, allows for easy and automatic bullet organisation and let's all chant the glory of Ctrl+F. Remember, the F there is for best Friend ever.

I didn't expect you'd address the notes in the guide, really. But you did, and did well, as usual

just like in school, it depends on the person and how much you feel you need. adjust based on the difficulty of the plot, simple plots and runs you probably don't even need notes. plots with lots of tie in and threads, you need notes to organize and make sure it all connects and themes.

do people still take their game notes hand written? that's just silly, I don't even take school notes hand written unless I have to, I type it all, ctrl F best friend indeed. but yeah word processor simplifies everything.

I ended up doing this one since I'm helping someone via note formulate their plot, and I was getting notes that had dialogue and all, and felt I should address issues about note taking
