The stroke path thing won't work...
How do I get off edit because when I click another tool my line disappears..
π: 0 β©: 1
pheona In reply to sazberryftw [2008-06-22 01:03:17 +0000 UTC]
The line will always disappear when you click on something else. after you make the line use the "stroke path" option to make the line. If you accidentally click away a line, you can find it in the 'aths' window (usually in a tab on the layers window or go to dialogues>
aths).

Great tutorial! But one question, for both of them, what should I do different, since I have a tablet?
π: 0 β©: 1
pheona In reply to kingjustinian1 [2008-06-02 20:35:02 +0000 UTC]
Well since you have a tablet, you do not need to use the paths tool to get nice lines
π: 0 β©: 1
kingjustinian1 In reply to pheona [2008-06-03 00:51:33 +0000 UTC]
Ok, so I'll just follow the same rules, except no path tool?

pheona In reply to kingjustinian1 [2008-06-03 01:04:37 +0000 UTC]
Well the lineart tutorial is pretty much a how-to for the path tool, but you are welcome to use it however it helps

um, for the sketch layer part where you say not to use the sketch layer as the background...what do you mean, and how do i do that
π: 0 β©: 1
pheona In reply to FriedIceCream [2008-03-24 14:55:47 +0000 UTC]
Before you start drawing the final lines, it is a good idea to have a sketch of what you want the final picture to look like. All I am saying about that layer is to make sure that you do not merge it with your lines, or draw your lines on it. After you are finished with the lineart, you can make it invisible, or delete it. ^^ Feel free to ask any further questions.

ok. but like what if i save it, but it says i have to flatten the image? do i just ignore it, or what?
π: 0 β©: 1
pheona In reply to FriedIceCream [2008-03-25 23:44:08 +0000 UTC]
You should save the file as ".xcf" (this is GIMP's special format) to save your layers. After you finish the picture, keep the .xcf file for refrence or touch-ups, but save the picture a sa ".jpg" before you upload it to dA.

I'm sorry, I don't know what the problem is I guess just try again after restarting your computer. I don't know much about that kind of computer stuff. If you have any other questions, please note me.
