Taking a break from animating to show you more shit about guns.Sidenote: The ones labeled "sure" are either unconventional or debatable, but I think are still correct and up to you if you want to hold it that way.

Umm, first "wrong" grip is actually right. At least in air rifle shooting. I was an NJROTC cadet last year, and was part of the school air rifle team (got transferred to a new school without an NJROTC program). When standing or kneeling we used our hands as platforms. As for second "wrong," it isn't that bad. If a bomb goes off and you are thrown to the ground and insurgents are coming towards you from the left (or the right if you're left handed), one could, in theory, "hug" their SMG, AR, or shotgun and provide rapid suppressive fire.

I always thought that holding the magazine gave you more stability.
I see a lot of pictures where some people from the Special Forces hold their weapons that way.
Also it's easier to draw.

Probably 'cause they face their bodies more forward ('cause the weak point of body armor is the sides of the body) and they keep their weapon in tight, making holding the rifle by the magwell more comfortable.

As for weapons that have more recoil than your body can safely handle, would you put the stock under your arm or hip fire?

There exist .50 caliber rifles designed to be fired from the shoulder in a prone position (or in a sitting position with the rifle resting on something)
If a gun is too strong for a person, then having a stock would be pointless. Hip firing a gun that strong would also be pointless.

The only 30mm rifle that exists is in a manga, used by a vampire chick.
However, there DO exist 20mm anti-tank rifle that you fire from a prone position from the shoulder, just like the .50 cal.

Building a 30mm ATR and lab testing it with someone who would be considered super human probably isn't the best way to design a rifle.
Might be able to use power armor with it.

That caliber only exists for a autocannon that's mounted on something like an A-10 Thunderbolt.
