Update(7/1/13)
Matteo now has a cape. After obtaining some Construct-A-Zurg capes at a very cheap price I toyed around with one on Matteo. At first it was just for the laughs in Bionicle MOCkery but then I sat down and worked out an actual attachment method for the cape, and I've kept it. Like with many things on Matteo I went for a realistic attachment for his cape. It is held on by another brown chain that keeps the cape from falling off. The chain is fastened to the cape via the capes natural connection points. I personally don't care for this particular cape as its a very stiff canvas material that doesn't drape right at all, but the shape of the cape and the black and red two tone are perfect for Matteo. I make it a point to keep Hero Factory off of Matteo and luckily these don't fall into that category. At some point down the road I may spring for a Darth Vader cape though. I did the actual fixes a while ago, I'm just now getting around to posting the changes.

Update(3/21/13)
Matteo has been updated again. Updates include
Color distribution changes(slight bit on upper chest, inside upper arm, middle of forearm).

Revamped legs with new front of shin design, swapped out black wide lift arms with dark red for more even color distribution, added BIONICLE POCKETS!

Changed wrist watch to pocket watch.

Changed cross pendant to up side down bat pendant.

Modified cane to include aesthetic(removed scorpion and moved spider back to top, added red spikes on side) and structural changes(is stronger now).

The legs overall got the most work here. It wasn't all done at the same time. Between now and the previous version I had redone the shin designs. The bionicle pockets came out of necessity of wanting to change Matteo's watch to a pocket watch. Well a pocket watch needs a pocket to go into, unless its the clippy kind which I didn't want so therefore he needed pockets. His right pocket has gold studs in it to represent loose change. Important people carry important things, important things need important pockets. Pockets are important.
Matteo is the kind of guy who'd have a bunch of pockets filled with stuff in all of them. I may go back and remake his pipe and stick that in his left pocket, or possibly just have it stick out of his messenger bag. Either way it'll be sticking out of something.
An important sidenote. The pockets sit more flush to his legs and don't look so bulky when they're empty, but as I explained Matteo has full pockets so they're a bit bulgy.
The legs were colored and made to mirror the arms a bit with a black center and dark red sides. Not sure how well that works but eh. I do think this all looks a lot more clothes like than the previous design. I also feel I must note that I had to switch the Glatorian fists that connect his thighs to his hips to HF fists because all my red Glatorian fists cracked or broke. I know its probably just a matter of semantics because they really are just the same part, but yeah I kinda had to break my "go by this year rule" with that. The upside though is way more durability and tension in those joints. So please forgive me for using HF parts on Matteo, even in a very subtle way.

This is an official "previous version comparison" Deviation. This Deviation shouldn't be confused with his Main Deviation or his Detail Deviation . When Matteo gets an update in his designs, I'll update this deviation that way a side by side comparison can be made. The main Deviation will usually be updated, but because of the drastic nature of updating the detail collage, I will only update that when the MOC's current form is drastically changed from the photographed form. Seeing as how Matteo is very near a point of "total satisfaction" this may not happen again, if not for a long while.
