Finally, finally finished! This is by far the most ambitious Predator project I've done. There's stuff that still doesn't *quite* work for me - mostly the fact that the tentacle mass confuses the flow of the picture. That, I fear, is a problem only solved through experience.
This is one of the last request pieces I'm doing. It's experimental and so serves its own purpose, but it uses a couple of Predator characters belonging to my friend ~yen-ta , with his permission.
I assure you that there is a story behind this piece. One of these days I plan to write it out, but in the meantime I'll leave you to wonder...
I used ink and Prismacolor pencils on this. It's 14x17 inches and it took me nigh-on 80 hours to complete.

Yeah, I'm more comfortable with traditional mediums than with my computer art programs. I like having the feeling of real media between my fingers.

I do get sore fingers (and elbow and shoulder...) when I work on color-intensive projects like this. I have to remember to stop and rest when I start to hurt, though, so it's not so bad. That's why it takes me a long time to get the big projects finished.

I know what you mean... I get the same pain when I've been at it for too long! ...but on the other hand, I mostly only do lineart - it's been quite a while since I last used traditional colours...

Yeah, it gave me some trouble on account of being so blasted complicated and it took longer than ususal for that reason. I'm just glad the blasted thing is finally done!

i was just watching avp on the tv when i thought hey why not check DA, and of course there it was "world cancer" ^_^ the colors, the characters, the positioning, just everythings perfect!

yeah the tentacles are hard on the eyes even on the finished product i dont know how you actually pulled it off your pretty amazing *thumbs up*
ive been showing seth'ra all the steps but he doesnt really get on DA that much, hes still amazed by the piece of course!
and i havent seen troy/ sinaru in awhile but ill be sure to show him the pic next time we see each other

As soon as I have the remaining art trades finished, I hope to get back to my story-writing. I've just been so busy drawing and coloring that I've not had a chance to sit down and write any stories in a couple of years!

I don't have any direct matches; the closest thing I could come up with is "ventricle" ...which *does* count. The question, of course, is where the thing hides its heart, if it has only one in the first place, which I doubt.
