Description
As I promised, here is my second tutorial. This time I'd like to explain the way I clean my pencil linearts. When they are finished I print them on the sheet of paper and start colouring them traditionally with my markers.
By the way, since some of you asked, I'm going to make a copic tutorial next :].
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm very happy that my previous tutorial was helpful.
Credits: `Princess-of-Shadows for the texture, =anikakinka for giving me tips with a dodge tool :]

Um, I was wondering, what program do you use specifically? [All I have is a scanner, and paint, its somewhat depressing....] I want to buy a good program, but I don't have a clue what I'm doing! [Sorry, if I'm being a bother...]

There is a free program called GIMP and you can download it on Internet.
Personally, I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 but I think some of the options discussed in this tutorial are available also in GIMP.

I never thought of using the dodge tool for cleaning up smudged areas, or multiplying layers to darken the lines. Very helpful, thanks!

Awesome, this is kind of like what I usually do too. Except I use "levels" instead of brightness/contrast or curves (but I know that works too). I didn't think of using the dodge tool to get rid of small marks left behind though. And I also didn't think to blur the lines on a new opaque layer to make them smoother. Thanks for that!

you really don't have to use the dodge tool to get rid of artifacts. just use the levels dialogue and change the brightness slider so you don't see all the artifacts, but also be sure to change the black slider so your lineart doesn't fade out when changing the brightness slider.

Swietny tutorial, sporo mi rozjasnil, dziekuje :3. A masz jakis sposob na wymiane bieli na przezroczystosc aby pozniej pokolorowac? @@'

Red-Priest-Usada In reply to Pea-Atalante [2009-11-09 16:35:00 +0000 UTC]
Kopiujesz warstwe z lineartem i zamieniasz jΔ na multiply mode. W ten sposob biaΕe tlo zamienia siΔ na przezroczyste. Wszystko co bΔdziesz malowac pod tΔ warstwΔ nie bΔdzie wymazywaΕo linii rysunku.
