You drag your file onto the model.

Question, when will you be making the tutorial for attaching weapons to the model's body?

Hm, I can start really soon. I"ll keep you posted about that.Β

I'm new to MMD, so sorry if I don't know very basic stuff, but lets say I want the character to place the lantern on the ground. Of course, I could just do some movie magic and swap out the models, but is it possible to do this without making any cuts in post production? Perhaps some sort of anchor type thing going on where I could keep it on one position without any influence from the rest of the model? Also, what if I wanted a model to remain attached like this lantern? Like, if the model happens to be doll sized and I want a larger model to pick them up. Can this be done via a similar process? Sorry if I'm asking too much.

It is possible. There is a little option called OP in the model manipulation panel. If you click it, a window will pop up with the lantern bone and the model. You can attach it to a dummy bone if you add it in and the model won't affect it.

It does seem like I'd have to hide a portion of the models hair to make the hat fit properly, unfortunately, so that might make things a bit complicated, unless I'm missing something there too :/

RitaLeader14 In reply to Ahzafera [2018-05-31 23:07:33 +0000 UTC]
You can adjust the size of the hat buy using the control panel (C) in the model window. A window with XYZ should pop up. Scale the hat to fit the head.

Thank you, again. I'd like to avoid altering the hat size, but it does seem to be the best solution and it probably wouldn't be noticeable anyway.Β

Thank you! ^-^Β I have a model that comes with a hat, which I was messing around with and I wanted to have a nice clean way of him removing or losing his hat. And the other stuff is just for future projects I may be making.

You can just select the bone and then rename it under the english name.

You can add them by right clicking the bone list and then move the bone to the accessory. Then weigh it on the accessory.

Hi! Thank you so much for this incredibly helpful tutorial! My question is, does this work if you want to attach outfits to a mmd model as well?
π: 0 β©: 1
RitaLeader14 In reply to psy-cho-path [2018-03-29 06:45:53 +0000 UTC]
No. It only works for accessories. Trying outfits will make the outfits fly off your model when it moves.Β

Do you mind possibly linking me to another helpful tutorial specfically for putting clothing onto mmd models? If you don't have any in mind, could you eplain to me what I need to do?

RitaLeader14 In reply to psy-cho-path [2018-03-29 07:00:47 +0000 UTC]
Well all you need to do is drag and drop the clothes on your model.

You can weigh your accessory on to a finger bone or if the accessory already has a center bone, you can connect that none to a finger bone.

I don't necessarily understand how it works. I'm trying to put glasses on a model and I still don't quite get it...; Do you have any tips or helpful ways to let me understand it?
