How to attach wings (that have bones)? Is there a tutorial for it because I'm having a hard time...
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
RitaLeader14 In reply to MarinKoi [2016-08-31 14:30:35 +0000 UTC]
Just make sure that the wings first bones (That attach to the back) have the Upper body bone as it's parent. Example. Let's say The upper body bone is 12. Go to the first bones and put 12 in the par box or parent bone box.

Thanks a lot it worked!
If your accessories have no bones or you ย can't seem to find them. Just add new ones!ย
It doesn't have to be a lot of bones. I added one simple bone to my accessoryย and it glued to my model's head. ( I believe it was a IK bone)
(May or may not work)

There could be bones that have the same name. That's why they disappear.ย

I think they are center bones... :/

Ah, Yes. I had problems with those. It's very likely that they are center bones disappearing.

Are there other bones with the same name? That usually causes bones to disappear if there are many bones with the same name.

Hey! I quite don't understand what you mean with the layers and bones in pic #6ย ย I was trying to put a tie on a model, by any chance do you know how to do that?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
RitaLeader14 In reply to straight-outta-tunes [2016-07-28 06:41:43 +0000 UTC]
Well, what I mean is how to move and object to a model. For A tie, all you do is make sure the first tie bone(The top part of the tie) is connected with the upper body bone. For instance. If the upper body bone to one of my models is 12 then for the tie bone I will put number 12 in the parent bone box. This tutorial is for like objects such as the lantern I used. But I am still happy to help with clothing accessories too.

I've connected the first tie bone with the upper body bone and all it did was that, but the freakin tie stayed at the same exact spot where it appeared at xc so u could only see the connection between the bones and not actually where the tie is supposed to be (around the model's neck). And plz if u don't mind helping with clothing accessories it would be greatly appreciated.

RitaLeader14 In reply to straight-outta-tunes [2016-07-28 07:08:48 +0000 UTC]
Well, What I meant by selecting all bones and physics and joints is lining all of it up with the tie so it's not all crazy. Only make sure you select the tie and it's physics and joints and bones. Then put it near the neck. The layers are in the "Vert/Mat" option in the PMD/PMX window. The tie should be highlighted in green. it will turn orange when you select it by running your mouse over it.

straight-outta-tunes In reply to RitaLeader14 [2016-07-28 07:20:58 +0000 UTC]
Ohhhhh, err...but do u know a way to just get the tie highlighted bc when i highlight the tie it highlights parts of the model too. Yup it appeared in the stomach xD like it got eaten or something. Also, the program is kinda updated so when I press "Vert/Mat" all the parts are already checked and when I unchecked them the parts disappear but the bones are still shown and so is the tie's bones, so is still a problem highlighting the tie with the model's bone in the way. Hope I'm not a bother at this time..

RitaLeader14 In reply to straight-outta-tunes [2016-07-28 07:24:43 +0000 UTC]
Ah, You're using PMX editor. Well What I do is save the tie off to the side so it's not in the models body when you add it. That way it's easier to select the tie and only the tie, plus it's bones, physics, and joints. Then you place it on your model.

straight-outta-tunes In reply to RitaLeader14 [2016-07-28 07:32:36 +0000 UTC]
lol i didnt know that pmx editor did that. ok but like in ur 4th pic, it asks if u wanna add it, right? So I did what u did and pressed ok and it pops up in the usual spot, so how would I "tell it" to show up somewhere else (like at the side)?

RitaLeader14 In reply to straight-outta-tunes [2016-07-28 07:37:44 +0000 UTC]
You have to open the tie without the model and then move it to the side. Save it, then drag and drop it onto the model.

There are buttons at the top that say V, B, P, and J. Those stand for vertex, bones, physics, and joints. make sure those buttons are selected when you select the vertex, bones, ect.

OK problem is, I did select them (the buttons) and they still won't move with the tie.

Well, first what are you doing? Did you not select the tie? I would move the bones, physics, ect onto the tie.

Ok but I try to select the bones, physics etc. To move it to the side where the tie is but they won't get selected for some reason so I can't move them :/ I tried pmd editor and every thing moved but with Pmx editor it doesn't. Do u know how I can use PMD instead or what else is there for Pmx??

But i have a question, Like how do you attach a model to a chair?
im really new to mmd so i need to learn a ย lot XD
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
RitaLeader14 In reply to kiiboy [2016-04-03 09:07:46 +0000 UTC]
Well it depends if the chair is an x file or and PMD/PMX file. If it's an X file, there is a model called Dammy Bone in your model's folder. Then go to the accessory manipulation section and it should have two tabs that say ground and a blank one. Select ground and it will pull down a list of the listed models. Pick Dammy bone and the chair should connect to the dammy bone's first bone. Don't forget to register it. Then Load your desired model and move it into a sitting pose then move your model on the chair. If you have a PMD/PMX file of the chair that is fine. You don't have to do the extra steps listed above. Just load your model and move it into a sitting pose on top of the chair. To save poses, Go to the bone manipulation tab and press select all. Then go up to file and press Save Pose Data. You can simply name it sitting Pose. Also there's no need to feel embarrassed to ask questions. I was new to MMD too at one time. (Back in 2013.) Feel free to ask me if you are comfortable enough to ask me questions. I tend to be very patient with my help seekers.ย
Anyway, Welcome to MMD!

Oh! One time i was trying to make a model to sit in a chair that is PMX file, I clicked Register after i move the model (I know how to move models) But that Model is slowly moving back to where it is. ย Let's just says that i put a motion to a model. Then I moved it and register it. and it slowly moves back to the middle of the stage where it was from. I don't really know how to fix this. Do you know how to fix this problem?
And thank you for helping me!

RitaLeader14 In reply to kiiboy [2016-04-03 16:35:29 +0000 UTC]
If the model doesn't have a mother bone that could happen. But what usually you could do is use the "apply center position bias" option under "Edit." It will give you the coordinates X Y and Z that will all say 0.0. 0.0 is in the center. You can change that by typing in numbers. X moves left and right, Y moves up and down, and Z moves back and forth. Typing a negative number in X causes it to move to the left. While positive numbers move it towards the right. Positive numbers for Y makes the model go up while negative numbers make the model go down into the floor. Putting positive numbers in Z makes the model move back while negative numbers make the model move forward. This is a useful little tool that will help you when your model won't stay in the position you put it in. Also I'm glad that I'm helping you. ย

I ย tried to use the apply center position bias, It do work.ย
I registered after i move just in case if its teleport back to its place, but after i play it.
it slowly moves back to where the back of the table where is supposed to be.
Did i do something wrong? just asking, Your Tutorial is pretty helpful!

RitaLeader14 In reply to kiiboy [2016-04-03 17:19:16 +0000 UTC]
You could just add a mother bone. IF your model doesn't have one already. The thing is it has to have a motion loaded to the model before applying the center bias option. How to add a mother bone is go to edit in PMD editor or PMX editor and go down to bone. Click the last option and name the bone:ย ๅ จใฆใฎ่ฆช

It's at the model's feet. It's supposed to be there. Now you can save it and move your model around.
