merge them down just like with the sketch layers.
I put a circle around the button to use.
Shortcut is ctrl+E (could be different, I don't remember if that's the default key or if I configured it

One question, though: I got confused on whether you use the brush tool or the pen tool to make the lines.

I only use my pen for coloring (and to erase lines, cause the brush tool will just smush them up instead of doing any erasing)
