But seriously the thick soles of the PLA boots were originally intended to be some kind of spacewalk tech.Β They housed mechanism that generates Van der Waals force that would allow them to walk in zero-G, and they were worn over the skintight space suits everyone used.Β I'm still not 100% on how it works or even if I'm going to keep that, but that was the idea.Β Save on boots by having one pair for everything, and don't disrupt things too badly when the paragravity aboard a spacecraft goes out or is deactivated.

I can see the idea of generating a small magnetic field in your footwear to keep in contact with the hull.Β And since the hull is a non-ferrous material, maybe it has the repulsion field to keep micro dust and micrometeorites from penetration said hull.Β Thus theΒ footwear and hull could be working in conjunction to allow the wearing to navigate the outside of the ship, along with aΒ tether of course.Β At least that's my take on your idea.Β
And not a good idea to do target practice against a body of water where the chance of a ricochet could occur.Β

The PLA uniform has had various forms of hilarious foot coverings, since their inception. You really should look at the older designs... that is if they ever get released from The People's Data archives. I think you have to sell your soul and first born to Mao, firs though.

Yeah, did a major overhaul of the uniform.
Thanks!Β It's very similar to Coathanger but that was an accident.Β Funny enough the sketch for this predates Coathanger by about a year!
