I own both marker and pencil sets from Prismacolor, will those brands also work for this tutorial?

Great tutorial thanks ^^ but can you recomend any other pens and markers cus i cant get any of those above here in iceland -.-

TaniDaReal In reply to Arigela [2010-03-04 13:55:18 +0000 UTC]

I haven't tried any other yet, so I couldn't really tell anything about it. Generally, there are some good brands that should never fail, like Faber Castell, Schmincke or Prisma Colors.

What brand of white ball pen did you use? It's so hard for me to find one...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TaniDaReal In reply to spicytech [2009-09-24 21:00:28 +0000 UTC]

I think one is from "Edding", the other one is a random no name brand from an US art store.

Thanks. Now i'm off to go to hunt some white ball pens.
BTW, i'm aware that COPIC Markers are so expensive.

At my local Office Works, they have twelve Copic Marker sets for $99.

I don't know if thats a good deal, or a bad deal.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

spicytech In reply to Lil-IBeatSephy [2010-01-14 19:47:02 +0000 UTC]

Wow... I got my twelve for around 640000 Indonesian Rupiah which is around 68 U.S. Dollar...

But it's not in set, they have it on a rack where we could pick our own colors, but they never have all the colors, so it's hard to look for specific colors.

i have a question,

which is better? prismacolor? or copic markers?

i kinda wanna learn to do traditional colorings, too. but i need markers and colors and other stuffs. my friend told me prismacolor is the best. is it? i really wanna know thanks!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TaniDaReal In reply to silverwolf77 [2009-07-21 07:56:30 +0000 UTC]

I am sorry I can't compare Copics to Prismas as I have never used Prisma Color markers. I have always used Copics and wouldn't trade them for anything (Prismas aren't popular / known here in Germany).

Great tutorial. Using colored pencils for details in the coloring process is a really good idea. I mostly use markers (Prismacolor) to color my work, but I may embrace this colored pencil addition.

Either way, very helpful tutorial!
